I see this coming up every so often so here's another easy guide to deal with something.

Against BBs:

- Pray it's not British (insert HE joke)

- Don't be really close

- Go broadside

- Do actual maneuvers like turning and adjusting speed

- Don't angle unless you're confident you will dodge the shells

- Go fast or hit the brakes

- Run away like how you run from alligators (actually don't run away from alligators like that)

Against Cruisers:

- Do not broadside

- Run the hell away

- More alligator running

- Extreme super angling (you will need it against British cruisers)

Against DDs:

- Angle & laugh

Have fun not getting deleted by AP.:cap_cool:

Please note this is a very general guide and does not account for case by case matches.

Using engine boost will also speed up throttle response and allow you to brake and accelerate faster.

at least, I think it does.

You can also use your smoke to run away, if you have it.

oh, and if your engine and/or rudder is broken, you will probably want to repair that to WASD AP shells, since having a broken engine will give very poor throttle response.

Actually if they're shooting  AP at me I feel better than if they were shooting HE:cap_cool:

as a DD main, the best option for you once spotted is to:

1. Pray to some higher being. Probably Poseidon.

2. Know your exits. They're usually at the front and back of the ship.

3. In the quite likely event of an emergency, put your head between your knees and kiss your bum goodbye!

I feel like I've killed more DDs in my Montana than any other ship.

They get fantastic dispersion and AP shells that have a Goldilocks fuse that arms just perfectly on every target.

If the user is good at predicting the path of the target, then USN 16"/50 Mark 7 rewards well.

Can't say the same about Izumo's guns.

Izumo's shells just go a little too fast, and have already punched through the DD before even arming. USN shells are slow and heavy though, which leads to some sad DDs.

My favourite DD hunter is the Scharnhorst, though. Her shells are simply magical against them, and the secondaries contribute as well.

Izumo's shells not only go too fast, they have severely poor dispersion, which does not reward good aim at all.

My current favorite for killing DDs is Missouri.
