Odd glitch in upgrade costs Danae-->Emerald (ETA: sorted).

When I look at the Danae module and hull upgrade tree in port, it tells me I need 18K ship XP to trade up to the Emerald. (I am almost there).

 

However, when I click on that ship or go to it via the tech tree, the upgrade cost is 21K.  

 

Did something change in an update and not get reflected accurately somewhere? Between free and ship XP I have 18000, and it's a bit annoying when I'm this close to find what appears to be an inaccuracy in the sticker price (in a bad way).

 

(All that being said, I am learning to love this ship and having some good games in it. Used to be 20,000 was a really good game in co-op; now I'm disappointed in myself if I don't get 40K+ and I'm not all that sure I want to give her up.)

Here's the thing:

In port for the Danae modules tab, that's the amount of XP needed to get Emerald. This doesn't count the required XP needed to search the modules (of Danae) in line to get Emerald.

If you click on Emerald, and to the right where the ship stats are, the XP displayed there is the XP required to research her. That XP Requirement is counting the ship and the modules of Danae, that you haven't researched.

You are missing a required upgrade on the path to the Emerald.

You need to research the Danae's hull as well in order to get Emerald. So, the research price of Emerald is including that hull's research cost, along with the cost of the Emerald.

Odd. I shall have to double check, but I was sure as God made little green apples that I DID have all the hull upgrades. I will clarify the matter next time I log on.

Yep, you all were right. I logged in and checked it out, and indeed I mistook the green Danae B hull indicator for "researched", whereas it was really "open for research". So I finished that off and bought the Emerald, and took her into a training room for a spin. She steers like a paraplegic snail on valium compared to the Danae, so that'll take some getting used to, and then there's the choice of which modules to fit... but I'll start a separate thread on that after I've played with her some more. Among other things, my captain needs to work off his new-ship-noob status.
