Being an ethical team player can get you killed.

Twice today i was in the middle of typing out a torpedo warning to friendly ships for my torps that had missed or for friendly ships that had turned the wrong way at the wrong time.

Both times, I was obliterated.

LOL.

 

(At the end of the day I cannot complain, though; in between my polite immolations I had a 50,000 plus game in the Danae, which even if it was in co-op is 40,000 better than I normally do. And I'm not sure whether I actually had an 80,000 game or whether I'm still dreaming that figure. But three games north of 30,000 in the space of an hour or so is enough to make me think it's time to start recording them.)

Don't fire torps behind friendlies who could turn into them. If there is a chance your ally could turn and intersect with the torps, dont fire them. It does happen though even to the best of us if we arent careful.

Don't run straight sideways for the edge of the map when your very slow CV spawned out in the open. (Actually, regardless of the CV when is this ever a viable strategy?) The enemy team pushed straight through B while the rest of my team ran to the edge of the map behind some islands, I tried to follow but couldn't keep up, annnnd you can guess what happened to me. All at the very start of the match. Sigh.

BBs drifting to the edge of the battle not to get hurt. Get in the game! Use cover if you must, but don't take yourself out of what decides the match.

Chats suggesting going 1 way or to take 2/3 points only for a lone DD/BB/CA to go sailing straight ahead to the point not chosen.

Entire team goes to A, then sits there.

 

Entire team goes to no where, sits in open water.

 

Entire team turns 180 upon spotting a single red, loses all points.

 

Entire team splits into singles, dies.

 

Entire team sits in smoke, no one can see crap.

 

Entire team sees Kamisamurai and friends bow on, 8 vs 3, not pushing forward, gets shitted on.

 

Radar cruiser gets detected by unseen ship (hint it's a DD), not popping radar.

 

BB island humping, gets torped.

 

Cruisers smoke orgy, gets torped.

 

Friendly CV has no fighter overwatch, not even to save his own life.

 

Friendly CV forgot his fighter groups on the other side of the map, while team getting torp planed to death.

 

Friendly CV can only control 1 air group at a time... just... fffffffeff

 

Friendly DD charges forward, then smokes for no reason and sits in it, no spotting.

 

Friendly CV is USN, enemy CV is IJN.

 

Friendly CV 30% win rate, enemy CV 60 %.

 

Five radars on the enemy side, 1 on your side, you are playing a DD.

 

Sinking 4 enemies within 10 min of the match solo, team somehow loses the match...

 

10 friendly ships goes to one flank, somehow loses to 3 enemies.

 

Half the team's dead before your first torpedo salvo load.

 

Make smoke, friendlies squeezes in pushing you out.

 

edit: for pete's sake, when you have superior number against a few ships bow on. PUUUUSH. It's mathematically impossible for them to do enough damage to kill any one pushing against them. Get into melee and use your superior numbers to crash them. Sits there trading shots is not in your favor.

In no particular order:

1 - 1st game of the day on CV a Saipan on the other team.

2 - Invisible ships fires at me from open water (this still happens sometimes)

3 - Ships firing from inside the smoke screen and hitting you like with pinpoint accuracy.

4 - Atlanta

5 - Using repair to put out 3 fires, set on fire again on the next hit.

1. 2 carriers sit motionless for 10 minutes, ships die defending them.

2. BB at full health wanders off to the edge of the map

3. whole team spams the F chat keys

4. cap it and we win, nothing to stop us --- ship turns around and goes away

5. CV can only control one squadron

6. team chats about sex only

7. DDs pop smoke at the beginning of the battle

8. "You shouldn't have turned into those torpedoes"

9. Green ship shoots at me because I made him turn to avoid collision

10. I shoot Japanese cruiser torpedoes at a Konig 9.5km away in open water, he shoots at me and never turns even a little, is sunk

11. We cap A, B, C, and D --- nothing tries to stop us

12 Oh look, a Konigsberg is 3km directly behind my Warspite - BANG

5 minutes in & your team has:

- A cruiser get deleted

- A destroyer gets deleted by torps

- Destroyers who are behind your back line battleships

- A carrier trying to snipe in high tier battles

- A battleship that loses half their HP in 1 salvo

- Not even a single cap & they're all red

- Battleships going to D cap on North

- A team that hovers around epicenter instead of going inside it

- 2 to 3 ships dying by a wall of skill

- The carrier that gets all of their planes strafed

- The carrier that can't provide AA with his fighters that are in the middle of nowhere, leaving a DD or BB to RIP

- POI spam

- The carrier who doesn't move

- The Minotaur who has smoke but refuses to use it until it's nearly dead & gets inevitably deleted in the open.

Ships that are giving full broadside, but they don't become visible until you've just fired at the one visible target.

That battleship that's giving full broadside and inexplicably vanishes from sight as soon as you're reloaded.
