I assume you mean beside the usual ones, BB, CV, HE, AP, IFHE, CE etc?

TOTD is one I see alot - Tears of the desert (see also [edited] TOTD)

Since a lot of people seem to have confusion on this one, E, W, N, S. Those are directions. As in sides of the map. East, West, North, South.

LOL might add NE, SW, etc to the list. I was surprised when I mentioned sending planes to the NE and no one knew what that meant.

AFK

(possibly the most common acronym in chat at the start of every match.)

GJ = Good Job (as in, "gj team")

GLHF = Good Luck, Have Fun (said at the start of a match)

GTG = Got To Go (as in, "family emergency, gtg")

M8 = Mate (mostly British but others use it too)

NP = No Problem (said when someone accidentally causes you damage and apologizes)

Reds = the other team (of course, they look green to themselves but everyone knows what you mean)

WP = Well Played (as in, "wp reds")

LOL x2, try the half-winds (e.g., NNE, ENE, etc.) and see how many understand you.

Thank you for this thread, The acronym's always made the chat impossible for me to understand. I could never tell if it was a acronym a word or a misspelled word. I believed everyone did them to watch the little Japanese girl pull her hair out. So I am in everyone's debt that informed me

Thank you all

CAP = capture or capture circle/area (as in, "cap A" or "get the A cap")

One acronym that I don't like to see is the one for "shut the <bleep> up." Too many rude players use this way too much. I always tell them to "can it," which sort of means the same thing.

The one for "what the <bleep>" actually has almost lost its derogatory meaning and I actually use it a lot myself. We have been using this saying since long before the days of personal computers. I remember once a helicopter pilot, whose windscreen had just been shattered by a rocket, saying over the radio "what the <bleep>, over."

BB = Battleship

DD = Destroyer

CV = Aircraft Carrier

CR = Cruiser

LoS = Line of Sight

Cruiser is CA not CR even though CR makes more sense.. Not sure what that is though. Technically CA is heavy cruiser, CL is light but most people use CA as a general cruiser designation.
