Karma Revamp?

So one thing I've been puzzling on is how to get people to start playing for the team (ie BB's don't wander off, dd's smoke and spot, cv's spot, ca's focus fire, etc...). I figured this could help with some of the lopsided games because fewer people would camp or lone wolf it. Right now Karma seems to play almost no role, which confuses me because it's so hard to get. Why not make chances on supercontainers go up if your Karma is higher? If you want a better chance at getting something worthwhile, play for the team.

Oh and I've heard rumors that this is already in place but it takes me a minimum of 30 containers to get a super on the increased chance option. Also, the last 6 were flags, camo, or better modules so this seems mostly worthless at the moment. Can anyone confirm if there is already incentive in place?

Karma in game seems to do nothing.  No matter if I play clean (ie, don't do damage to others) or accidentally torp a friendly, the karma stays at 15.  And there is no real explanation connected directly to the karma number.  Click on it, and get no information.  Guess I'll have to go read the Wiki, when I feel like it might impact.  But, so far, I dont see any advantage/disadvantage to my karma rating, nor way to push it up.

lmbo, anyone who is telling you karma matters for anything is full of it. It's useless and should be removed from the game and replaced with a proper reporting system that counts for something.

Seems many players do not understand what exactly Karma in game actually is.

Karma is the number of times another player has used the compliment system on you.  It has absolutely no effect on the game other than the knowledge that Someone actually took the time to dish out a compliment at all.  It would only be idiotically, massively abused were WG to allow it to have an in game effect with this toxic of a player base.  All you would need is a few friends or (cough) clan members to spend all 7 compliments on you daily and poof you have unlimited Karma.

So no, never going to see Karma being used to induce teamwork, try actually communicating with other players, that actually works on occasion.

I like it just the way it is.  It matters to those that think about it (like me), and it doesn't matter to those that don't care about it.

I like to think that it's a nod to helping the team with out thinking I will get a reward, it's a selfless gauge on how other players see me and for me that matters.  :Smile_honoring:

Karma goes up when you get a compliment post-game for good play, and down if a team mate or opponent doesn't like what happened in the game and thinks you're a dunce or a potato or worse. I dance up and down between 12 and 19 because I can get a bit testy in game, especially when somebody make a personally negative comment in chat. Salt I don't mind, I worked on the railroad all my life and salty language is part of the rail environment. Personal or degrading insults that you would not accept in public or the workplace have no place in chat, and I can, and will, dump on offenders, including those who do it in Spanish, French, German, Russian or Portugese, never mind the karma impact. Negative checks from team mates and newbies who don't know better are prevalent in Co-op, much more than in Random. Water off a duck's back for the most part.

The only thing a high karma does for you in the game is to give you more reports/compliments. Not sure where it breaks but mine is like 240ish and I have 11 compliments/reports available to use.

I'd say for balance reasons, it should cap at 10% boost at maybe 100 karma (1% per ten karma)

I feel the Karam is a joke, it can only influence you emotion when you see the changes, and for me, i only feel angry, because I always get reported for revenge. If i did bad, i then I know I deserve this, but! I get reported when play UK CA, because too much AP shell rain on them, when play UK BB, I get reported because too much fire on them. But this is how the ship should be! And I get reported by this. If i carried my team, sometimes I will get reported by enemy just because I killed them. even once I get High Caliber and Conferdate, I get reported by my teammate. so in my opinion, Karam system, is a [edited]

I did not know about karma until last week (I have been playing over a year).  When I checked mine it was 0 so I guess it doesn't matter.  And I am not going to lose sleep over it.
