Honorary Service, Level 4 task 2

So I was able to finish Science of Victory, all 10 missions and 119 tasks.  I am down to the last task and mission in Honorary Service, Level 4 task 2 “Destroy 35 planes in a single battle using tier 8-10 CA’s or BB’s”.

Tell me WG, where am I going to find the idiot CV driver that is going to get near a T-8 to T-10 BB or CA that is set up in the way needed to shot down 35 planes in a single battle?

That’s of course if MM lets you get into a match when you are in a AA set up ship.  The old saying of  “if you don’t like CV’s, play your AA set up Cleve, you will never be put into a match with a CV” comes to mind.

Look, I know some players have done this and have finished all the tasks, but could you please make the tasks geared more to skill then chance?  I busted my butt playing CV battle after CV battle in till I found 3 CV players that could give me 3 “Clear Sky’s” to finish Level 3 task 5 in Honorary Service.  Somehow making players play ships they hate dose not seem to me a way to promote the game.

You just drive around in a max-AA BB until it happens, pretty much. A lot of the high-end missions require you to find the perfect turkey on the other team to hand it to you.

Next week's Yamamoto missions have one that requires 40 plane kills, so yeah.

Well... you could ask div wit a friend or acquaintance, one who has that carrier then stick by their side as the reds send planes over your minotaur to attack his carrier? Question is... what are you gonna have to pay for this service?

I've been trying to get that achievement too. I shot down 36 planes with my Cleveland yesterday by staying near a couple of BBs that the two CVs were targeting. However, since the Cleveland is tier VI it didn't do me any good.

Was more or less easy on my full AA spec Neptune... 8.6 km AA range plus manual fire control for AA skill, 246 damage per second. Inside 7.2 km 352 more (total 598 damage per second at 7.2 km... whoa) and then just sail to a good position on map (in the middle of it). Trap worked perfectly, found a nice enemy tier VIII CV, cover by island but on the middle. Result? 56 planes shot down... i was on a perfect spot and smoked, moving around the central lake, so enemy planes keep flying more or less inside my range.

 

Not easy, but workable with AA beasts on right spots (balti, Dm, neptune, minotaur)

You don't have to do every task to complete a mission.  In fact, you could just do the same task over and over and over again until you earned enough stars to complete the mission.

He's trying to completely finish the Campaign, not just finish it.
