Massachusetts??

OKay...We have NC and Alabama at tier 8 in the US line. Now the scuttlebutt is we are getting BB 59, the Big Mamie. Im wondering why the Mass as another premium. I may be biased having served on her, but if you are going to add another premium US battleship...the New Jersey seems like it would be a better fit. The most decorated US surface combatant, and arguably the most decorated BB in history (Warspite might have her beat depending on what your criteria is).

You know, just for the lulz, since I know WG is all about gimmicks these days, why not introduce New Jersey and her gimmick consumable is the TDY jammer that completely disables any radar or aircraft spotting (since aircraft needs radio communication back to the ship) within, say, 12 km.

Run an Iowa/Mo/Jer division. Radar, block radar, have a plane for spotting torpedoes, and AA specs for everyone.

I have a skin for my Iowa with a nifty '62' on the bow..but I figure if you can put BB 63 in game, perpetual barn bunny that she was, than the Big J most definitely deserves her day in the sun. I swear 63 was almost perpetually welded to the north side of pier 6 in Long Beach...

Im asking for A premium for..reasons stated. More lines would be nice, but we are rapidly exhausting the pool of navies and ships that actually did anything in either war.

I will counter with the oft promised CV reboot, or an un-nerf to DDs in general and IJN boats in particular would seem a better time sink.

Iowa is a perfectly competitive ship ingame now. Literally the only thing I would change about any of the USN BBs from tier 8+, would be a blanket buff of all 5"/38 secondary mounts to 15 RPM from the current 10 rpm. This would also effect cruiser and carrier secondary mounts. There is absolutely no reason why such a weak secondary gun should be capped at such a baselessly pitiful rate of fire, when nothing else is.

I'd personally rather grind for three hours at my job for a Tirpitz instead of two weeks or so in-game for a Bismarck. But I actually want WG to support free and premium players equally, even though I'm not a free player.

It's out maneuvered by islands, can't dodge torpedoes at all, the guns are inconsistent compared to the NC before it, and it's massive superstructure takes enormous amounts of damage from both HE and AP. Feels like a straight downgrade from NC.

It can chase down cruisers, accelerate out of danger, and has sublime accuracy when paired with the -11% dispersion module. It has superior ability to flex, its guns are easier to aim with, penetrate more armor, and its protection has been upped slightly.

 

The only thing it does objectively worse than NC is turn in a circle.

I've never been able to pull it out of a fight, the rudder shift is incredibly slow and combined with the massive turning circle, you're deleted if you try to pull out. The only thing left is to angle in but when you're taking 20k dmg from HE salvos it's a bit irrelevant. I know the guns are statistically better but I cannot get them to deal pens and citadels nearly as often as I can with the NC. Also the superstructure is so large I take battleship AP pens through it, while the NC's smaller superstructure usually only took overpens. I really can't find any advantage to this ship except the higher hp number.

 Of course the bonuses of a premium are nice, but even having non completed free lines would be nice, like having 2nd or 3rd line of cruisers from T3 to T7 if the line doesn't complete the criteris for higher tiers, or that tech tree branches out of a 2nd line, dunno, but there are always ways to make then work into the game.

 

 Like DD IJN line, or Russian DD line too.

Thank the crybabies who lost their minds when Alabama_ST was announced and insisted on WG selling one too. Willing to bet the MA was going to be the regular premium to be sold.

I was afraid of that when I bought the bama.  Well, guess I will be buying the Mass and selling the bama.

because if your on mobile the mass looks like alaska so when you go to WG with all your rubles and dont look you end up with new ship.
