It seems like armor is meaningless.  The only thing Ive encountered in my Iron Duke is HE and torps.

 

For example, I was fighting a Kaiser today at 12km.  He fires his A turret, sets fire to the front of my ship, fires B sets fire to the second 'front area'.  I put it out, and angle to fire my A B Y & Z turrets.  He waits out my repair party cooldown, fires his middle turret, hits and ignites the second "burn area" on my ship, and then fires his Y and Z turrets one at a time, hitting and lighting my entire rear of my ship.  That's five hits, five fires....I don't remember the game being like this.  The nice thing is offering a broadside doesn't seem to matter any more, as you still get hit with HE.

 

T8 doesn't seem to play like this.  What gives?

 

So...just fire prevention skills?  How do you level these days?

I really don't experience this personally. However, that is remarkable luck on his part to get a fire every shot. 

 

...also I find it a /little/ funny that a RN BB player is complaining about fire.

Just use ap in a bb and ignore all the bbs firing he all the time its simply a fad thats ending very fast.

He in bbs has dropped off by at least 60% as people get bored and moaned at in chat constantly.

If a team mate is spamming he for no reason in a bb i say so its simply stupidity.

 

Just use bb and this fad will end.

And dont forget insta kill is in for ap vs dd.

He got lucky in his fire rolls, however you can minimize how many zones you are showing, you can take skills to limit fires, save your damage control etc. etc.

jokes about that ship's awful dispersion aside, that Kaiser mostly just got lucky with his RNG rolls. i don't think that's something you'll be dealing with on a battle to battle basis.

Sounds like Karma to me.  If an opponent can hit more than two of your fire zones your not angling at all and thus none of his shells are shattering on your armor like they would had you been angled.  HE spam from BB's is annoying but by letting one or two fires burn, you should have been easily able to wreck him with your AP long before those fires did much damage since he was obviously not angled either. 

HE is only a tool, use it wisely and prevail, or just give up and shout, "HE OP Plz nerf!!"

I've kind of wondered how dispersion really works.  As I understand it, when you fire multiple guns simultaneously, all aimed at the same point, some of them are going to stray from where you aimed.  Is that correct?  If so, and you have a ship with all single-gun turrets, like a Kuma, would you avoid the dispersion by firing each gun individually instead of all at once as a single salvo?  Or does the dispersion programming "remember" that the last time you fired it put the round where you aimed it, so each successive round fired has a chance to go somewhere other than where you aimed?

I was wondering the same thing. At 12k most mid tier BBs can't count on a hit from a 2 gun salvo with RNG.  I can't count on a hit at 5k with only 2 guns. This guy was getting at least one hit in the targeted area and starting a fire with each 2 gun salvo. RNGesus really likes that guy.

I've always ASSUMED it was just a randomizer applied to each shot but I don't really know. I've fired a 2 gun turret and had both shells head for different time zones. Other times they stick close together but dive short or long. The rarer case is both shells hitting the target in the same spot.
