Smashed this guy with 11 main battery hits and a secondary hit and he still pushed in to torpedo and kill me :( Sometimes RNG just doen't like you very much!

Not only that for unlucky, you ran into one of the few Tier 4 DD's that seem to run with Survivability Expert.  10,300HP on the V-170 those extra 1400 hit points from the skill. saved his life

I actually surprised more people don't use survivability expert, I've lost count how many times I was able to limp to safety because I had that few extra hit points left, only to return later and get that last kill in or cap that last point.

No No NO.  This can't be.  I have been reliably informed that all DDs have been nerfed to the point where they are unplayable.

It's useful of course, especially on playstyle, but I think it boils down to majority of people feeling other skills are more useful and just not having the points to slot that in.

I've taken to running IJN DD's that have the option, without smoke, and with a torpedo reload booster instead myself and then speccing my commander with concealment of course, and doing things like RPF so I can find the holes I can usually safely sneak through.  That's only the tier 8 and 9 ships that have this option, but survivability is a very good thing to have.. it might allow you to survive that one torpedo that would normally kill you, and as stated limp off and then come back at 'em because a DD with 1 HP left is still a dangerous ship!

Ship upgrades and commanders skills allow you as a player to generate better opportunities to create your own good luck.   What turns out in retrospect to be a potent skill is not always obvious.

Funny all the BB seem to run it. :Smile_trollface:

No nerf on this one! I'm getting hit after hit and thinking..DIE ALREADY YOU LITTLE *&^%$.....he then went on with a sliver of health after he sunk me to cap and help his team win. Good player.

SE is vital to DD's, it's up there with Last Stand (the single most important DD captain skill, IMHO...if you don't think so, go play a USN, IJN, or German without it) and Concealment.

That might be what it is, at least that's what people tell me when the topic comes up during game chat.
