Then you may as well leave now. Because they’ve already mentioned it a few times that they don’t want her at tier 10. And then just confirmed she is going to be tier 9. The only thing they’re debating on now is whether or not they’re going to make her a free xp ship, or a purchasable premium.

Dont worry, they'll probably give her guns horrid dispersion or find some way to make them less effective than Yamato's guns. Theres no way they'd let those things be that powerful a full tier lower...

If WG is going to make her an in-game IX premium, instead of poor performing guns, they should give her less secondary armament and less AA like in her 1942 configuration as so:

Otherwise if WG is going to make her OP, they should put her in her final configuration (before her sinking in the Philippines), and give her some gimmick that will make her slightly better than her sister ship.

I maintain that "What Japan said Yamato was" 41cm-armed Musashi is the best route to go for a tier 9 yamato class.

 

It's basically a paper design, and yet more legitimate than half of either Russian line ever was. It'd basically be a better Izumo at that point.

Izumo was basically defunct the moment Nelson hit imo. Not that she wasn't already distinctly bad before, it's just now overwhelmingly apparent. Izumo just needs replacing. Musashi can go be it's own thing. As for making Musashi t9, the only way I can see them doing it is giving her the old 1942 loadout which will make her very very vulnerable to air, but reign her power in some. They may tweak her other stats abit, like giving her 2.0 sigma instead of the yamato's 2.1, among other things.

But the biggest complaint people have is 46cm guns in tier 9. So dropping her to "what if" 41cm guns makes sense to avoid that complaint. Not that it really affects her ability to overmatch, it's just a shell damage nerf really.

Wouldn't be the first time they've introduced a powerful premium. Sounds like it would be a "stock T10" if T10s had a stock configuration.

That would only really work if the reasoning here was to get a high tier premium ijn bb. The point is to get musashi because she's musashi, and therefore is gonna have 46cm guns.

I could argue that the point of getting Mutsu was to get Nagato's sister ship instead of what was actually released, too.

As long as we get Musashi in a balanced state, I'm happy. We don't need another broken premium, especially if its a Yamato-class BB. The only problem I can see is 18.1 inch guns at tier 9 might ruin tier 7 game play.

I do agree with the "what if" 16.1 inch guns idea but there will most likely be people who will complain about it. We do have someone complaining about Iron Duke's funnels after all. Like I said before, as long as the ship is balanced, I'm happy. What they could do is make her guns 18.1 inch but have something like 1.8 sigma and really low damage output to make it balanced.

Thing is I'm not convinced reducing Musashi's accuracy to keep the 46cm guns will satisfy anyone. It'll just make her more frustrating to play ("I can't hit anything!") and more frustrating to play against ("I dodge like crazy but the dispersion is so big that it hits me for 14k anyway!")

 

3x3 41cm, meanwhile, is proven to be balanced in tier 9 by Izumo already having that in a derpier, less well armored package.

 

And I should point out, everything tier 7 or higher that is overmatched by 41cm guns is also overmatched by 46cm guns. So this doesn't really affect more than raw shell damage.

Less AA still not enough

Even full AA spec Yamato die in the hand of T10 cv..Lower the damage from the 18 gun is better. Bacause if Musashi T9,  many T7 will meet them.

I don't see how this would affect anything, tier 7 BBs already get overmatched by 16 inch guns.  The only tiers that would be affected are Tiers 8 and 9, but only in the specific scenarios where there is a battle in the 7-9 bracket.

It is exactly what I feared.  They are downtiering a Yamato-class with the expectant nerfs for her.  Why, OH WHY are they apprehensive of making Musashi a Tier X Premium when they already made the leap of Missouri as a Tier IX Premium.  I am going to be horrified with the kind of nerfs a Yamato-class is going to take to fit into Tier IX.

 

Yamato at Tier X is already a quirky BB and some discomfort to play with some peculiarities.  Now Musashi will be downtiered, nerfed, a la Mutsu from Nagato-class.  This is not good.

 

By making Musashi a Tier X Premium, they have a lot more room to play with.  The competition is already quite good at that tier.  By making her IX, there's no doubt, she's gonna get nerfed good.

It seems funny to me that people would want to make the Musashi which existed, to be made less historical by changing its main armament just because the 46cm guns were officially listed as 40cm.

 

That is a weak argument, it was called 40cm to hide the fact that the guns were actually 46cm

 

I for one am glad that it'll be a tier 9. I will accept whatever adjustments they need to make on her performance for that tier.
