1,841 CylonRed Members 7,017 posts 15,948 battles Report post #1 Posted September 28, 2017 So - nearing the 19th point in the Algerie and he will continue onward (maybe back if I can't play Ix or X). So far I am horrible at Ix and X in BBs though - I absolutely suck at the Iowa (I mean REALLY suck), not good with FDG, and ok with Bismark. Passible with N Caro... so we shall see. Currently the captain in the Algerie has the following (pretty standard): PM, EM, AR, DE, and CE. Will have 4 to assign once I get the last point. Suggestions please... 2,290 [TSG4] ObiphanKenobi Volunteer Moderator, Privateers 3,992 posts 22,670 battles Report post #2 Posted September 28, 2017 you brawl a lot? or range player? are you play aggressively?? If you brawl a lot - Advance Fire training, this boost the secondary and a lot more hits and scare dd for dd hunting purpose, get more fire damage from secondaries too. If not, then Jack of all trade If you are range player and pretty confident your shots connected and enjoyed, then survival expert - this is to boost your HP a little bit, and you not going to be in danger since you at range, couple up with the premium consumable and the reduce time in using them also help. Cant really give any more due to you not explaining your play style and stuffs ...

In between - not going to be up front in a cruiser and not going to try and take on 3 ships by myself. In good situations I am more aggressive, but don't want to sit back and snipe. And I really don't know what play is like in the higher French cruisers.
2,290 [TSG4] ObiphanKenobi Volunteer Moderator, Privateers 3,992 posts 22,670 battles Report post #5 Posted September 28, 2017 (edited) later on, you want to div up, so I can see your play style ??? t9/t10, I observed that players tend to stay back at range, hiding behind island reversing and stuffs, which really enoying. So for me, I tend to go for range, DE, AR, double rudder shifts so I can lop shots over island, burn them all and torp to prevent dd getting close to me, then dd hunting at later game. I brawl too when needed and I AP high tier BB where they are turn and run away from me. I used speed boost to chase after them or for dd hunting or to get around the other side of the BB LOL so I can AP him again. I also love to AP and disable their main turrets while engine boost. I used fighter to hunt dd if needed or for torp warning so, I go for Advance Fire training. Sometime I found that good CV can kill me in 2 torps if I am not careful or travel alone, so I tend to stick with fleet Edited September 28, 2017 by ObiwankzKenobi

1,841 CylonRed Members 7,017 posts 15,948 battles Report post #8 Posted October 6, 2017 (edited) I am not as close to 19 as I thought but thinking about things. at least in terms with the Algerie right now - I am playing pretty timid. More timid than the La Gal which I have done far better in than the Algerie. Just really can;t get anything closer than 14 KM against just about any ship or I just get hammered. I find it difficult to be able to sling shells when the flight time is 12 seconds - I am aiming virtually off the screen and can't take any turn they may do into account. EDIT - I can now buy the Charles Martel but will wait a bit before playing to get it upgraded. Edited October 6, 2017 by CylonRed

I want to say yes - I bought some of the cheaper boxes and got the collections. That was about the time I started going well with the French cruisers and could have avoided buying boxes. I used to full zoom and fire, but if I full zoom and roll back a notch or two, that made a huge difference. Oddly enough, my monitor makes a difference. I play on two different machines. 1 has a 23" wide screen and I have very few aiming issues. The other is 19" square display, and sometimes ranged fire is challenging, especially with faster targets. Not sure if it will help or not. Good luck! B

With some of the camo I find it hard to tell where the front of the ship is. I play on a 22 inch LCD TV and an older video card. At least the TV is wider than the 19 inch monitor which is a good bit older I used to play on.

Smoke go back ward, ship go forward. Depending on how much of the smoke, that how fast the she go eg 1/2, 3/4 speed, and then full speed .. this is the most easy to see. Also a good indicator to lead your shots for citadel hits. This apply to all ships of how the smoke go

When you can't see the very front of the ship you are firing at then the aim is off by that much to the rear - which is a problem. :)

Only way to brawl if the red of tunneled on teammates or else the game will be very quick. Too many games under 10K damage this week and far more less than 30K damage. 2,290 [TSG4] ObiphanKenobi Volunteer Moderator, Privateers 3,992 posts 22,670 battles Report post #21 Posted October 13, 2017 Well, I was playing in my StLew-ee last night, charging C, torping/sunk the Scharn, used acoustic to dodge his torps, with 1/2 health left, turn around the island then torp/sunk the Bis that cap B on his way to C, and burn a Yamato that reversing in B. You need to use the speed boost more effectively and every other cunnings of a skilled captain so to force the enemy into your chosen situation that benefit you 2 hours ago, CylonRed said: Well for sure brawling in the CM and I assume above is going to be rare - very, very rare.
