The line is in the tech tree now and I was looking at a few of them, to me there seems to be some copies but I would not know for sure

The T10 looks like a Gearing lower in the water

The T9 looks like a Fletcher

T8 a C Hull Benson...

The others I have no clue...

Anyone have any ideas?

The stories tell you what they are or were.

T10 is an Allen M. Sumner, which is a very close cousin to Gearing.  T9 is indeed a fletcher.  T8 is a Gleaves.

Anyway, hover over the blurbs for them and it'll give you more info.

Tier I is a IJN Escort Ship, looks like one of the Mikura-class to me, Tier II is a V-25-class Torpedo Boat, Tier III is a R-class Destroyer, Tier IV is a Minekaze-class Destroyer, Tier VI is a Gnevny-class Destroyer, Tier VII is a N-class Destroyer, TIer VIII is a Gleaves-class Destroyer, Tier IX is a Fletcher-class Destroyer and Tier X is an Allen M. Sumner-class Destroyer. The outlier being the Tier V which was a Royal Navy project Destroyer that never came to fruition.

t5 (RN)

Similar to the Shakespeare class https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thornycroft_type_destroyer_leader

Thornycroft built pretty similar ships for Romania, Argentina and Spain in the late 1920's so it fits pretty well.

The T4 Minekaze came with Japanese weapons removed, so some others have been put on.

The guns on that one are USN 5"/51 guns. The Nicholas used to use them on the A hull.

actually the Allen M Sumner class was launched before the Gearings! the gearing class as a whole are an improved/enlargered version of the Sumners class!:fish_book:

If you hover your cursor over the ship it gives you the mini blurb on each ship.

Ahhh I forgot about that!

I searched for the name of the ship and came up with a few pages of facebook people and resumes...

I looked up the Sumner class and the Gearing is lengthened, why then is it riding so high in the water? The Gearing that is...

It looks like it has 2 types of guns, the inboard guns look shorter than the front and back guns.

Yep, the Thornycroft type leader is probably the most influential destroyer design in the game. Jian Wei is the standard WW1 version. (Although the AA platform is behind the aft torpedoes, all the others have it behind the main funnel. WG artistic license or sekret Thornycroft design?)

There's 6 unique variants that'll be interesting for WOWS.

Spoiler
Shakespeare/Jian Wei RN/Pan Asia 5 x 120/45 BL Mk 1 814 mps 5 - 6 rounds per minute
Churruca Spain 5 x 120/45 Vickers-Armstrong Mk D 808 mps 10 - 12 rounds per minute
Mendoza Argentena 5 x 120/45 Vickers-Armstrong Mk D 808 mps 10 - 12 rounds per minute
Regele Ferdinand Romania/KM/VFM 5 x 120/50 Bofors Mark 4 900 mps 10 rounds per minute
Gravina Spain 5 x 102/50 Vickers Mk E ?? ??
Almirante Antequera Spain 4 x 120/45 Vickers-Armstrong Mk F 853 mps 15 - 20 rounds per minute
Wallace RN 4 x 102/45 Mk XIX 811 mps 20 rounds per minute

Vickers-Armstrong Mk D is an export Mk IX, the ones found on Gallant. Churruca and Mendoza will make good tier 6 leaders. (Mackay was the test ship for this gun)

Vickers-Armstrong Mk F guns look interesting, not sure if the destroyers ended up with same mounts as the cruisers. A C hull Farragut competitor?

Can't find any info on the 102/50 Vickers Mk E gun. I bet it'll be a fun ship to mess around in though, tier 5 Izy maybe?

Regele Ferdinand has 5 Blysca guns and Italian torpedoes. Tier 6 Leningrad? Move over Anshan!

Wallace has arguably the best guns/AA but at the expense of torpedoes. Tier 4-5 super dakka machine?

Interestingly, we basically have roughly half of a full British DD line represented in the game now with premiums and sold ships.

T2

T3 - Vampire, Phra Ruang (ex-Radiant)

T4

T5 - Jian Wei (very close cousin to multiple British designs as discussed above)

T6 - Gallant

T7 - Gadjah Mada (ex-Nonpareil)
