warships birthday confussion

Today 9.27.2017 upon loading the game it started uploading a new patch or an update.  Since that time changes were made to the birthday event its no longer ending on the 10th of next month it ends tomorrow and battles are no longer awarding the achievements for the event when earned.  Since I do not have all the ships required to receive the achievements 1st hand I've been relying on earning the duplicates and trading them for the collectable items.  With only 2 items left for me in the event and not the proper ships to achieve the awards what are my options now? Do I just have to write it off as a failed attempt of completion on the birthday event?

This is the complaint I gave WG when I had a survey option. For some people it is really hard to get the collectibles, even if they put in the time to try to get them. A last minute change to the 'rules' really rains on peoples parades and plans.

The event ends on the 27th.  Events always end at roughly 8AM Pacific time, which usually coincides with a patch/update.  Lots of online games do the same.

After being similarly disappointed for an event I started planning to get events done the day before they end at the latest.  This doesn't help you now, obviously.

If you're just bummed about not completing the collection, you can buy a package of the anniversary containers in the premium store.  Sounds like you wouldn't need but a few.  1 box is $3, or you get 6 for $15.  That should be enough that even if they are all duplicates you'd get enough to finish those last two and be done.  Sucks having to spend cash to finish it out but I think that's your only real option here.

It never did end on the tenth.  Their dates are European format (this is a Russian-made game after all) so that 10 was for October, not the day.  And yeah, I've been caught by that one before, too. ;)

I did not wait at all.  have been on it since it started but since I don't own the proper boats and you only receive 1 duplicate per achievement per day guess I was always bound to fail it without even knowing it.  last night when I checked the dates on the event I could've sworn it said 10 but don't doubt that I was wrong.  the dates as I understood it have been in military dates and times. maybe wrong about that too. I thank everyone for the helpful responses and words of encouragements. again thanks for the help and play on.

kinda funny though the server says ends on 28 and today is 27 and still it has already stopped the achievement awards in battle

Holiday achievements, items and presents are available from the release of Update 0.6.10.1 until Update 0.6.11.1.  <-- Anniversary event pages says this so what we saw isn't wrong.

While the Anniversary Event ends September 27, you'll still have until Sept. 28, 04:20 PT (07:20 ET) to pick up Anniversary Containers with collection items. 

Considering how many times we've seen this 'event ends on x date, patch comes on x-1 date and event ends then', think somebody isn't converting dates correctly for patch day...  Asia and EU get their patches about a half day later than NA and they're both on the 28th local time.

NA: The update happens September 27; preparation begins at 03:00 PT/ 06:00 ET until 04:30 PT/ 07:30 ET.
EU: Update 0.6.11.1 will happen September 28; preparation begins at 07:00 CEST until 08:30 CEST (UTC+2).
Asia: メンテナンス開始: 日本時間 2017年09月28日(木) 06:00
RU: 27 сентября с 5:00 до 6:30 (МСК) сервер был недоступен в связи с выходом небольшого обновления 0.6.11.1.

Yeah,wait a minute, I only needed 2 more duplicates to get the full set.

That's two full camos I am getting ripped from.

Basically a loss of 6000 doubloons, or $27.75 worth of in game goods.   Being that I am a PvE player, I had to log in every day to continue to build up my duplicates (and luckily only had to do 1 PvP match, but I thought I had today to do the final 2 co-op duplicates.

I mean, I was forced to play ships/tiers that I wouldn't normally play, over and over again til the requirements were met in order to try to gain these awards.

I completed it, but the dopey thing is that the camos, except for the Kiev, are for ships I might not ever have.....

Wow, so I guessed we're screwed. If I'd know they were gonna cut it a day early, I would have picked a different achievement with my last 2 duplicates and scored another camo. I guess somebody doesn't know how to look at a calendar.

I don't see why there should be cut off dates at all I can still see the collections in my profile why not allow us to get a container option for one duplicate for whichever collection your after seems fair to me since its not handing it to anybody.

I think enforcing cut off dates is to create a sense of urgency for the next promotion.  For example, when I saw the difference in dates, I finished my last target tier 10 a day early.  Primarily because of reading threads such as this one from previous events and a personal experience.  I got up early and logged on to get the last activity for an event and discovered that was when my pc was doing a Windows update.  It was something that would have been easy to achieve in PvE with a mostly bot team.  Missed out on the reward because I had to leave for work.

 

On a technical note, there is the fact that these events are coded into the game and it would require a micro patch the next day to remove it and still keep their update schedule.  The simple solution would probably have been to move the entire event to end on the 28th...

Had no problem getting collection completed in the time required. The problem I had was the

instructions where not specific on the website. Strongly disagree with being able to buy the containers 

after an event is over.
