I knew Musashi was gonna be tier 9 only. No way is WG dumb enough to make a tier 10 premium. I'm predicting she'll have great guns, but horrible AA, and some nerfs or something else to balance out the fact she'll have 18.1 inch guns at tier 9...

I like the news about Musashi (hope that it will be a free xp ship) and i hope we get more great camos. Still no confirmation on that anime collaboration rumor from Gamescom though.

Musashi T9 as expected. I'll put my money on it being free XP then. Looks like Nelson will need to wait till I hear more.

they could go with the pre refit of the Yamato where most of the 127mm DP guns are replaced with the 155mm secondary guns which will give her terrible AA but great anti-ship capabilities.

I expect that if they allow her to keep the 18.1 inch guns, her accuracy will be crapped all over, like say 1.7 sigma.

no Musashi IS a premium ship, it'll just be bought in the shop or with Free XP, we don't know which yet

1.7/1.8 sigma, and a reload nerf from anywhere between 31 seconds to 36 seconds. Hopefully they tone down her TDS or HP. If all else fails, you can nerf her weatherdeck and casemate to 32mm, though she would be rather unrecognizable by then.

I'm gonna guess she'll have an ok dispersion, 1.5 sigma, terrible AA, good rudder shift, great TDS, great secondaries, a good DCP and heal, decent-ish armor, and burns like a roman candle soaked in aviation fuel and thrown into the pits of hell.

Great, another lol-facepen ship at high tiers. If it is indeed to be a tier 9, they need to limit the MM pulls to +-1 so that this thing isn't literally deleting tier 7's in a single salvo.

 

Yes, I am aware that all other tier 9's can overmatch tier 7's. No, the tier 7's don't also need to be hit for 14,800 damage from a single citpen, or over 14,000 damage from just three normal pens.

 

Tier 7's can usually also hurt tier 9's pretty badly if they get caught broadsiding at most ranges. A Colorado or Nagato for example, can citpen a broadside Iowa out to almost 18 kilometers ingame, and can penetrate the belts of Lion, FDG and Izumo for decent damage at about those ranges. In order for them to citpen a Musashi, it would need to be parked broadside at about 14 kilometers for them to do the same. KGV and Nelson wouldn't be able to even do it reliably at 10 kilometers thanks to the increased penetration drop-off ingame.

Assuming it's Musashi at any point from as-built to 1943, she'd already be inferior to the Yamato-class in game (which isn't the Yamato herself, as it's still missing some AA). She only had roughly:

• 4× Triple 15.5cm secondaries
• 6× Twin 12.7cm DP mounts
• 12× Triple 25mm AA guns
• 2× Twin 13.2 mm AA machine guns

The secondaries are barely on par with Amagi B; and Amagi has 16x 140mm AP casemate secondaries (vs Musashi's 12x 155mm) and 8x Twin 127mm DP mounts (vs Musashi's 6x Twin 127mm DP mounts). The AA is flat out somewhere between Nagato A and Amagi A.

 

Assuming no other changes aside from just being stock/as-built, that makes Musashi a pure anti-surface BB at T9, the way Arizona is a pure anti-surface BB at T6 (with her practically nonexistent AA, but better accuracy than NM).

 

Now, if WG wanted to give her some gimmick or element to make her worthwhile at T9 besides accuracy and octagonal citadel (460mm doesn't really grant an advantage even 1 tier lower), they could buff the secondary ranges to 8km (0.5km more than the KM BBs). It would not make her any better than the KM BBs in a brawl, nor make her anywhere as dangerous as a secondary-spec Yamato, but it would add a bit more pressure at mid-range (moreso considering her slow traverse). The only other alternative is Alabama-level maneuverability, which is slightly closer to accurate for the design, and could be a means to help offset her major weakness to CVs (maneuverable enough to torpedobeat some) as well as vs torpedo drops at range.

Personally however, Musashi is better served as a T10 FXP Premium, in either her 1943 form, 1944 form, or a fictional hybrid form (1944 refit + wing 155 turrets). Regardless of form, she would be inferior to the Yamato-class in AA. That just leaves either buffing her secondary ranges to rival or slightly exceed KM BBs, or giving her Radar, or giving her back some of her lost maneuverability, or giving her back the original Super Heal that Yamato had.

Just want to point out real quick, my average aircraft kills in pvp for the Arizona is 1.92 according to the default WG profile page...
