Just to remove any doubt as to what Tier VII BBs are doing the best here are all 4 server stats.

Just to get this out of the way, it's no longer Scharnhorst that is the undisputed ruler.  There has been a coup at Tier VII BBs and Scharnhorst has been dethroned as The Best Tier VII BB.  It is now a toss-up between Nelson and KGV.

Warships Today stats, 2 Weeks, Solo, Tier VII BB filters.  This is what I prefer to put up due to isolated, current stats for all involved.

EU SERVER (Warships Today)

ASIA SERVER (Warships Today)

My NA & RU Server stats are pulled from "WoWS Stats & Numbers" because Warships Today's NA server is still kaput.  WT's RU server is inaccurate.  The only RN BBs Warships Today's RU page shows is Warspite, so WoWS Stats & Numbers was used.

To be fair, I'd like to apply Warships Today's more exact filters, but this is the best we have to work with now.

Onto the stats.  Note the eerily similar performance for both Nelson and KGV in WR% and markedly higher average damage across all servers.  They are pulling off what Conqueror isn't at Tier X.  Conqueror is doing markedly higher average damage but is still not the WR% leader.  Nelson and KGV are the ones doing much higher damage AND much higher WR%.

For anyone thinking on diving into Nelson and KGV, just so you are aware, they are great ships but like many, have some glaring flaws.  It's just the strengths of the ships have meshed well together for Tier VII fighting.  People have ranted so much and being so focused on Conqueror, that Conqueror isn't doing the kind of performance, tier-for-tier, that Nelson and KGV are doing at Tier VII.  RN BBs are running away with the competition at Tier VII.

For now.  They've only been out about a month or so, so give it time for the everyday pubbies to get their hands on them to average out the stats.

Nelson, like Missouri, has only been handled by mostly experienced players with enough Free XP to unlock her.  Those types of ships will typically run higher stats than tech tree ships for obvious reasons.

I wouldn't read too much into these stats yet.

I think Scharnhorst is still the better ship, thanks to tanky armor, better RoF and torps.

KGV and Nelson are still in the realm of good players playing it, so the stats are a bit inflated.

Overall, I think KGV is a bit strong, but not exceedingly so, thanks to poor accuracy

A month is about as long as it took for German Battleships and RN CLs to stabilize in their post-release stats.  Minotaur for example was the single biggest drop in performance from what she did in the first week.

Also, Tier VII is much more within the reach of Captain Average Joes to reach than, say Conqueror at Tier X, Lion at IX.  This is very evident when you look at the Battles Played in Tier VII.  Now, one could point to Nelson's stats may be slightly inflated due to relatively fewer Battles played compared to the others, but then again, what about KGV?  KGV is typically seeing the most Battles of Tier VII BBs and the numbers are holding up, so it's not like all those Battles being recorded are by a small core of good players.  The line released Aug 30, so it's a pretty good amount of time already.

Come on man, let's not pretend Scharnhorst's guns are good.  They got ROF, but they also got "Broken Optics" :Smile_Default:  This is compounded even more since most guys go Secondary Build on all their German BBs.

I liked the King George a lot but sold it because I also have Nelson. She looks weird and is squishy if you don't angle properly. Sometimes even if you do angle right. However, the gun arcs are good.  I love being able to swap sides with all 3 turrets so easily. Both the HE and the AP are better than KGV. KGV accuracy seems more erratic and you fall back to HE because the AP bounces/shatters so often at range.

Scharnhorst guns are great IMNSHO. Sigma is 2.0. They make cruisers go "pop" so nicely. I've been using HE while playing Scharhorst for months before the British BBs showed up because of the relatively small caliber. Turret traverse is quick. Reload is fast. And the guns fit the speed and handling of Scharnhorst perfectly.

Plus Scharnhorst and Geinenau have better speed, better AA, better Secondaries as well as what you mentioned.

Yet look at what BBs are leading Tier VII BB stats in my initial post.

A hint:  They're not German, that's for sure.

The simple fact is there has been Regime Change in Tier VII Battleships, and people just cannot accept it that Scharnhorst has been rudely dethroned.  Matter of fact, dethroned by not one, but TWO BBs.

Nelson is the undisputed king of this game's meta, so yeah, no wonder who would do well.  9 16 inch guns all forward, in a tier that isnt completely [edited] over by over tiering, yeah, shes gunna do well.

Almost certainly the more fun ships.

Still - Nelson can be grinded, which is a big deal

As a cruiser player of late, I have a healthy regard for Scharnhorst's mobility, secondaries, and that cruiser-killing rate of fire.  When I spot a Nelson I immediately consider the possibilities of doing a bit of farming because I know I can get off an additional salvo during her firing cycle.  If u can catch her going away and u can maintain an astern position for even a minute or two, you can have great effect on her.  KGV is another matter, the after turret of four rifles making a stern run a tricky affair.  I have been impressed with the accuracy of both ships at range, which may speak to the quality of player doing the aiming.

Impressed with KGV as I noted in my cheat sheet KGV is the British Scharnhorst. Nelson has not impressed I haven't played it but it really hasn't posed much of a challenge to sink.

KGV's gunnery strikes a decent balance.  It's not IJN / Nagato Sniper quality, but it's definitely not like Broken Zeiss Opticz of German BBs.

And to keep things current, transparent, here are today's Tier VII BB stats for NA server.

6ZHyXsU.jpg

Scharnhorst has climbed up to overtake KGV in WR%, even Hood.  Nelson & KGV maintain their averages, however.  50%+ WR and at least 60k Damage Average.
