Anyone else think that smoke and hydro on the same ship is a bit OP.. especially on a ship like the Loyang with it's detect ability range?

Z-46 and Z-52 both have hydro and smoke without giving up speed boost like the Lo Yang.

Yeah but they don't have such great stealth.

Smoke and Hydro together are fine.  Will admit the german hydro on the Z-52 is pretty darn strong, but smoke, hydro, and radar on the ship is OP *cough* belfast* cough*

No, I think it's quite fine. The Lo Yang is solid but don't think I have heard anyone call her OP before. However, smoke, hydro, and radar... now that is OP.

Just about all premiums are op in some way or another

Very few (collectors only?) are going to put out money for a ship that is not at least as good as its non-premium tier-mates. Since WG wants to sell ships, they have to make them decent or give them away (Mikasa). A meh-bote review really hurts sales. A Garbage rating will send sales into the toilet. It is a free-to-play  game so WG needs to find ways to get people to voluntarily cough-up some cash. Better than average ships do that. WG walks a fine line to keep it from becoming (too much) a pay-to-win game.

The hydro range on the Lo Yang is pretty dominant.  It's got Z-52 hydro at tier 8.  If you know how to use it when the right situation arises, then yes...it is OP.  So..it's not the combo of smoke and hydro.  Otherwise, the whole KM line from the Gaede to Z-52 would be OP.  Rather, it's the hydro range of the Lo Yang that makes it stand out.  The thing that saves it from being "Belfast OP" is that it's highly dependent on the situation.  Belfast don't care.

And you wonder why CC's get deleted when they put out reviews which say "this ship is garbage" and "ask for your money back!"

The thing that saves it from being Belfast OP is a noticeable lack of RADAR.

Lo Yang is neither OP nor more powerful that Z-46 or Z-52 (which she is a tier or two lower than); she is simply another iteration of a competitive DD with advantages and disadvantages, which every ship in the game has.

My phrase “Belfast don’t care” was intended to cover the notion that it has radar, hydro, and smoke...a deadly combo...especially at T7.
