Without CV and only one BB and no restrictions on CA or DD one of two things will happen. You will have teams made up of all radar ca or teams made up of all Shima/gearing DD. I have the feeling it will be the DD set-up. With that amount of stealthy ships and no cv to find them the torp spam will be insane and even the best CA will go down to torps. 7 DD spamming torps and none to spot them... good luck unless the other team has the same.

Clan war's always joke. Since, in WoT, when WG changed clan wars to favor clans with huge numbers instead of elite smaller clans.

I feel like that just added an oil economy (and a couple clan buffs to spend it on) to team battles and called it a day.  One of the most lazy demonstrations of added content from a game developer I've ever seen.  But we'll see.  Time will tell.

 

We need a strongholds mode with rewards like the oil economy or preferably something more complex / intuitive.  We'll never sustain reasonable queue times otherwise.

That is a complete falsehood.

WoT clan size was always 100 members.

100 members could easily take 5+ territories @ 15 chips per territory. If they were good that is.

No CVs, one BB, and rental tier 10s???  Anyone who's played CV to tier 10... WG just called you worthless.  Whoever decided on this structure for clan wars should not be involved in Clan Wars ever again.  Welcome to World of Khabs.

Not even team battles. It's a crappy adaptation of Ranked.

CVs: Can't use my own ship...
BBs: IM ON FIRE AGAIN!
CA/CLs: HE/radar/hydro spam...
DDs: Yeah... take out CVs... I'm still spotted by other things...

Probably a fantastic idea. One team cannot have more than one of each ship. I don't anticipate playing clan wars but don't want to see the overall game diminished by this either.

Vehicles used in clan wars did not get "locked" after battle till a major patch. Smaller clans ceased to exist after that patch because no matter how good they are, they just lose due to numbers. Reddit clans (narwhal, Rddt #s) are notorious for doing this. They send in the low tier sub clans to grind down the defender then let narwhal takes over the province. They were doing it for the sake of doing it. Some sub clans just suicide into defenders taking out as many tanks as they can, rinse and repeat. inbeforeinrealwarsattritionmatters.

You need to have more than 1 T10 to compete at an elite level, I personally have 26, SIMP has no sub clans and did fine. Any clan can get chip spammed.

Narwhal and Rddt clans arent considered elite by any means.

I'm happy to give it a go. This is their first go at Clan wars, so there will no doubt be adjustments down the road. My hope is that they open it up to tier 8 and allow more than 1 BB. As for the CVs, I think this is an implicit admission on WG's part that CVs are problematic and require a long overdue overhaul.

We skirmish with other clans in T10s all the time. Good matches.

The key point is going to be 7 people who know and trust one another, working together to win. That will be a totally novel experience. No TKing. Nobody driving off into the distance like in Ranked, forcing others to carry. No DD going B when everyone says A. Nobody fulfilling a mission instead of playing to win. 

 

Gonna be fun no matter what. And best of all -- no CVs. So winning isn't going to depend on the captain of the off-map guided missile cruiser.

I have to believe that queue times are what's driving the head scratching decisions they are making.  Banning CVs increases the chance CV haters will play, limiting BBs makes cruiser players more interested, and DD's have less to fear because only a few cruisers have the tools to hunt them.  Rental ships allows non-T10 owners access.

From where I sit, they are either incompetent, or desperate.  When you factor in some of the other evidence, I think desperation is the answer.  They are cash grabbing with every premium they release.  The much hated Belfast available for doubloons, overpowered Kaga now available for doubloons.  Huang He as a T6, with her t4 firepower.  The Graf Zeppelin debacle.  Cash driven clan expanding.  many of these are enormously unpopular choices.  They have to KNOW they are going to be unpopular, yet they are doing them anyways.

Need must drive them.  I think they are strapped for cash and are milking this cow for every cent they can get.

In an RTS game I used to play the multiplayer section had game rooms where people could chose the team they were going to be on and the game host could invite or dismiss players. Furthermore, the game had ranks that showed while one was in the game room and an option to disallow people from joining if they were ranked too low or too high. As with any system, there was some abuse but in general it worked well and still does -- the game has been active for ten years.

 

I think something like this would be a benefit to WOWS gameplay. Players usually can put together a balanced game better than a random search algorithm can. Also, the pre-game chat in the game rooms generally enhances the sense of community among players. An option for post-game chat would greatly enhance gameplay too, even if WG just allowed a minute for everyone to say "GG."

Top clans will use this to expunge some players and recruit others. It will be cancerous. It will become like trying to get into Method in Warcraft.

meh,   moskva and hindy can wreck khabs.      meh.       and CVs will be back  when they are balanced.  :D  (which may be  a long while )

lol IKR, that's what I am waiting to see....even if they alternate firing off their torps, its going to be a mess.
