WG giving tier 10 ships to players who have not even made it to tier 5-6-7 yet for clan wars is a horrible idea. I do not understand how you can think this would be good for the game. All this will do is lead lambs to the slaughter and may even make them leave the game. I really would like to know what your thinking is behind this. If you wanted to make it so more could be in clan wars why did you make it tier 10... why not tier 6 or 7 or 8 just like ranked? This just makes no sense to me at all.

Ok i was wrong on tier 5-6-7, but still only playing 1 game in a tier 8 will not make them ready for tier 10 clan wars.

Agreed, I understand wanting to balance the season around a single tier, but if they wanted to cast a wide net then they should have made it a more easily attainable tier.

It may be a bad idea, but do you think WG really had a choice?

Do you realize how many people don't even bother with top tier in this game? They've done everything possible to push people up the line, and it hasn't worked...so this really shouldn't be a surprise at all.

Not directly, but close:

"Players that have played a battle in a tier 8 ship will be able to rent tier 10s."

Tiers 5, 6, 7? Where?

When the season starts, if you played a Random or Clan Battle in a tier VIII-X ship, you’ll get a set of three special tier X ships for temporary use: Japanese cruiser Zao, Japanese destroyer Shimakaze, and German battleship Großer Kurfürst.

(EDIT by the power of reading again) Nevermind. Only players from tiers 8 - 10 will get the rentals. My mistake.

Also @Kapitan_Wuff the Tier 10 rentals were announced here: https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/common/clan-destine/

They still have to play at least 1 game on a tier 8,9 or 10 ship once the season starts ina clan battle or random battle before the rental ships appear in their accounts.

So they played 1 battle in a tier 8 ship will still not make them ready for tier 10 clan wars.

Then don't you think as a clan battle, you'd work with the people you are planning to play with?  This isn't ranked where its a bunch of semi strangers fighting against and with one another, its your clan against another.

We shall see. I still believe it is a bad idea.

I like how they picked 3 of the worst ships to rent for the opening of clan battles.

Shima: 1 BB, death radars, have fun.

Zao: You're not going to bring radar on your cruiser?

GK: Is it me or am I hot right now? :cap_cool:

They could just let you rent whatever T10 you wish, then we can see 1 BB with 6 Moskvas. :cap_haloween:

Other than that, renting is fine since you're playing with your clan, not pubs. If you wanna screw your clan over by bringing a DD with no camo or a cruiser with no radar when there's no CVs & 1 BB, be my guest.

6 Hindenburgs IMO :cap_rambo:

The keyword here is " A battle " - one battle away from Tier 7

seriously there's no much difference playing T10 or T6, the biggest hurdle of playing WOWS is T1 since that is when player learn to drive and shoot, LOL

I know T10 players aren't happy the lower tiers can play T10 without all the hard grind, but saying T10 somehow need special training is just funny

Actually it has some pluses. 1) the ships will not be a mix of hulls, guns, etc. based on what that player has done in the game before, 2) players who do not have T10 ships are still able to play , 3) the clan can train up skills  as a team, 4) more people get to mix it up in top rated ships and maybe T10 games in Random will get better and see less camping.

this is the good thing. why this is bad?

this is clan war, not rank, you chose player from your clan not random guys. So you must know how good is he.

Buy a kutuzov, play a battle, and drop into T10 clan wars...in your second battle.

Think about this...

First off, anyone who plays a T8 in the current game environment is -already- playing a T10 battle, due to the numbers of T10 ships in play now.  I think it's been quite often commented on by various players how taking a T8 now is rather pointless because you'll never get a T8 battle due to the above.  So, anyone playing a T8 ship is going to get used to the T10 gameplay pretty quick.

Second off, with T8 being set in the T10 end-game bracket as above, how many games does it take for a player to become 'good enough' to be 'let in' to Clan Wars?  Five?  Ten?  One hundred?  Where do you draw the exclusion line and how do you base your decision?  Is that method as clear and defendable as the proposed requirement to play a T8 at the minimum to engage in T10 battles?  Does having played that number of T8+ battles automatically make a player better than one who has just played their first T8 (and for this, you will have to state truthfully that everyone who plays a T10 currently plays better than anyone who plays a T7 or lower ship)?

Lastly, remember that the selection of which T10 ships will be available for 'rent' (which also implies a player will have to pay a fee to use these ships in every battle...so it's not a free pass into Clan Wars if WG chose that word correctly to describe what they have in mind) will change regularly.  The first three are not the only ones that will be in the rotation but just the first selections.

So, really, the requirement of playing a T8 ship to qualify for a rental isn't that far off the mark in my opinion, especially given the number of players I've seen commanding T10 ships who probably should have stayed in the lower tiers.  I think the selection of ship types and numbers is a more valid subject.

My two cents.
