This is of course, an IFHE thread. While the buff may be irrelevant for most ships, it's godsend for 100mm guns. What you are going to see below is a non-gunboat IJN DD. :Smile_teethhappy:

Nice game.

I feel sorry for your opposition though, two Rank 1 players and seven Rank 10 or better against one Rank 5 (who comes top in a T6 ship in T8)...

Impressive shoot-up of the Chapayev, with radar that ship is a threat to go gunboating against.

Yeah 2% sounds small, but if you do the math it can turn into a lot.

Like if you do 1 fire for every 100 shells then instead you would get 1 fire for every 33.3 shells and then when you factor in fire damage over time it does add up considerably.

 

But I am sure they have their reasons for the changes. And when it come to German BBs the keys fires you get on your ship the better when the best way to play your ship is to brawl and let Secondaries have at the enemy and main guns no wirk better at that range. 

Then again my Cruisers may suffer a little from the changes.

My DDs will be unaffected thanks to the fact I still just use the torpedo ones no have not gotten the chance to do all that much with the gunboat lines yet.

Lol very true. Even my Fubuki guns opened up on the enemy during Ranked, granted usually against other DDs, but if you have guns you can use them. Although on some DDs you want to carefully pick the times you decide to use your guns unless you are spotted already in which case fire away.

Yea I wan't real keen on using IFHE on my Akizuki and Harekaze, but that change to only a 1% fire reduction makes a really substantial difference over time.  Now I pack it because now the trade off is much better.  My Aki has turned into a murder boat!  (it was before but it's worse now...More importantly other DD's are gonna get chewed with her rate of fire and accuracy..  I do run the AFT for the extra gun range.. mostly to deal with BB's and CA's...they're not to fond of receiving the death of 10,000 paper cuts...I light a fire, and switch to AP and just pepper 'em.  It's fun!

I took the HSF (100mm) and the Akizuki out right after the patch, it has indeed made a big differance, they're still not good fire starters but they're no longer a the whims of RNG, the guns actually felt useful against BBs and Cruisers - and you can usually get a fire up when needed in a reasonable time frame.

Now the only issue is whether to put AFT back into the build on the Akizuki captain.

Actually no... fire only when you cannot escape. Fire and you are now guaranteed to be lit for 20 seconds. Eternity. 

Don't fire,hit boost drop smoke and run... then turn and drop torp. Unless you are purposely built to be a gunboat, escape and evade is better.

Except for those rare times when you know 100% where other enemy ships are and that you are out of range and have mountains blocking enemy cover fire as well. Lol like I said carefully decide when to use the guns.
