Can I spoil the mood?

Spoiler

That poor mouse has its spine broken about halfway down. It can't move its lower body, so it's trying to escape just using its arms. My cats bring home mangled critters like this daily. The cat's lack of attention is very curious nonetheless...

Sorry

Yeah my cat would likely just have the skin of the mouse and chewed skeleton left elsewhere.

She takes great joy in her work I guess, glad I am on her good side lol.

Animals injured like that don't move their back legs or tail. If you watch the gif, the only movement of its lower body is just momentum from the arms. Also, with places to run and hide as soon as the cat leaves, the only reason for it to stay is that it literally can't leave.

Finally, it makes no attempt to right itself. Mice (like most small animals) have an instinct to stay right-side up, and there's no way it can suppress that instinct for as long as it did.

I see. Interesting analysis.

Yeah I figured that was happening, but the visual still made me chuckle.
