Just little thoughts and tid bits.

 

For Carriers:  If you see an enemy BB go manao a mano with another BB at secondary range get your top bombers in on the side they were engaged on.    Good chance they may have lost a significant amount of AA mounts that side of the ship.

 

For Battleships:  Go for a shooting position fist.  When in doubt, closest target first, broadside target any range next, and DD's always.

 

For Cruisers:  pick an all ready engaged target over an un-engaged target.  Less chance of drawing unwanted attention.

 

For Destroyers's: Consider holding one spread of torps back when engaging a nose on target. once they're past your first torps they may turn out.  If you fire on them after they commit to a turn, they will not be able to respond nearly as fast. 

 

These are not rules to live by, just a recognition of opportunities to cause more mayhem!

Good points.  One thing I'm bad for in high tier DD's is using all of my torps at once.  Always worthwhile to save one mount

AA guns in this game have 360 degree fields of fire. Damaging AA guns on one side of a ship will decrease the AA all around the ship.

Pretty sure that all AA mounts contribute equally to the 'bubble of death' in all directions.  So it doesn't matter which side the dested AA mounts are on.

This is true, but there's another reason why you want to go for the 'inside' of the battleship when it's engaged in a secondary 'battle spiral'.

 

Any torpedoes that miss it won't threaten your ally if you drop them so they travel 'out' of the circle.

Good tips. As others have said, the CV one isn't quite right; AA is equal all around the ship. That being said, any loss in AA will make a target easier to strike, so it's still kind of right.

Wasn't aware that AA was 360.. explains a bit (I don't run CV's but once in a blue moon)  but caveating that to torp em from the inside of the death spiral is really quite good!  SO tip of the hat!

 

 

A special tip for Amagi drivers.... If it just so happens you spec for secondaries on your Amagi you CAN go mano a mano with a Bismark and win!  The difference is HIS secondaries are in fairly thin skinned turret twin gun mounts while your bigger secondaries are casemate mount and much more difficult to knock out due to the thicker armor protecting them.  Your armor may not be "As Good" over all but under 7Km secondary spec build you significantly out gun a Bismark my a noticeable amount.
