The TL:DW is pretty much in the thumbnail for the video.  Ship ranked on six categories.  Bottom line, I imagine it will be changed.  I hope it's not.  It's just so bloody fun.

Nice review. I hope there are no tweaks to it. Plus, your accent on the "Cesare" is almost there, but not quite ;)

Zoup, please recommend no tweaks. If this thing has to played at T7 75% of the time, then it needs to be adjusted to that playing environment.

I really want this ship. Shame the current MM will likely prevent me from buying it. Don't need more T5 port queens.

+1 Nice review Zoup.  I tend to agree with you that they will tweak this ship otherwise power creep will impact the tire 5 BBs worse than MM does already

Great video as usual Zoup.  I'm waiting for this one, hoping it comes out in October when I have the spare income to burn on it though lol.  If it's going to be tier 5 and seeing all the higher MM that is common for that tier since the change?  Leave it a is IMHO.  Tier 5 used to be a veritable playground for me.  Texas, Marblehead, ARP ships, Murmansk...  There's a lot of fun stuff released at those tiers but with the uptiering they become... troublesome.  Having another good ship at the tier which can hold it's own and not feel like you're sailing along as cannon fodder for the rest will be nice to have once again

Pastore...  that is my Mother-in-law and Grandfather-in-law's last name :)

I could have tried to get the whole Italian accent going, but it would have felt disingenuous.

T5 used to be so much fun.  Kongo used to be a great ship until they messed around with its dispersion too much IMO.  Murmansk was my go-to money maker.  It seems like T5 has lost the competitive edge and now caters as a beginner playing ground.  Nothing wrong with that, but the ships used to be so much better,

Exactly.  For instance, Texas.  I used to love sailing that thing, spreading freedom with my "murica paint job and protecting those near me from those pesky carriers.  It was great in a Tier 5 match.  Tier 6 it had troubles but was still doable.  Tier 7 though?  Well it dissolved into a "Hey guys, slow down so I can catch up and try to get some damage" or "Hey where'd everyone go...  Oh hi enemy team.  RUN AWAY... everyone get out and row faster!"

I'm not saying ti's all bad, you still have those times where MM takes pity on you and your ship, but it's not often.  To have that many good ships at that tier, which are a blast to play (I'm biased, I'm not very good at high tier gameplay yet) sitting in mothballs because it's just not fun fighting Tier 7's all the time is a bit disheartening.  From what I'm seeing from the Julius Cesare though...  That might make me have some fun at tier 5 again.

I don't post much but I always enjoy your videos when I have time to watch them Zoup

that being said I can't see me buying low teir ships now since most missions/events are high tier these days. ( although that obnoxous camo on the october BB does seem tempting )

So very true, I wish the Kongo had its old dispersion.

Moving it to tier 6 and limiting its matchmaking to tier 7 max seems like a good idea.

Yeah... Tier V doesn't even serve as a kiddy pool for new players anymore since it is almost constantly up-tired, making it one of the most difficult tiers in the game to play well at (right up there with tier VIII). Really it is just frustrating more than anything else.

And that's a really good point right there.  I really wish that rounds were 1 up 1 down.  In a 5 you either play T4 or T6.  In a 7 you either play T6 or T8.  I know they are worried about queue times, but I bet you queue times in the lower tiers would be quick with players knowing they wont get crushed in a T7 as a 5.  More players would play lower tiers and queue times would still be quick.

Not enough people on the NA server for a -1/+1 unfortunately. Should just bring back the old matchmaking that did not shelter the seals as much just to screw them over once they reach T5.

So far I have had two real life friends try the game, and both have quit at T5. Both did not like the MM, and the salt content in chat.

The MM hurts new players more than anyone else, even those who like to go back and have fun at tier V who are higher tier.

At least they know what they're doing.

New players got from tier III to IV, and it's the same kind of game. They're learning, and everyone's a noob. At tier IV, you are the best in class, nothing higher up, generally speaking, it going to kick you around. You earn bad habits that can only be used at such a low tier with such noobish players.

Then you hit tier V with your new stock ship, and suddenly you're constantly up-tiered, facing powerful ships driven by experienced commanders constantly. With the old MM, tier V saw VII much less and saw IV... which mean that players going from IV to V no only were going into a kinder MM, but they were also more experienced, thus making the struggle for them far less uphill.

It was better than the sheltered MM for encouraging new players to keep coming.

Premium in tier 5 better be a great ship for me to plop down cash.  Just finished grinds on Omaha and Iron Duke and spent 80 to 90% of the time tiered up.  Being on West Coast seems lower server population later at night, when you take out a tier 5 you are tiered up all the time.  Don't take my Texas out too often already.  The reality of tier 5 is that the ship better be competitive with 6/7, or ya take a pass.  For the Italian ships, already have the Duca and that is just a meh ship, so if they keep the Cesare at the reviewed level, would average out for the Italian line..

Well - she is certainly a beautiful ship. MM will make her bottom tier on an overwhelming basis based on past experience playing T5 ships so please, WG, leave her alone. She may help BB captains at least have a chance at some fun at T5. Hope everyone noticed that OP said he was having FUN - at T5. WG please do not spoil this.

Yeah, the ship looks like it will need a couple tweaks to bring it more in line with the other tier V BBs.

Like the battleships that kept sailing broadside without concern for most of the vid slowly advancing on him? :cap_yes: although if he slapped a few few rounds of grappa on them they probably wouldn’t have made it that far. :cap_popcorn:
