Just back from a nice 3 days at the Imperial War Museum site at Duxford, Cambridgeshire. Much tea and bacon butties were consumed and the sun even made an unexpected appearance at times, meaning my knees were exposed to an adoring public until the police made me put them away....

Although an air oriented facility the show featured quite a few naval types, both based there and visiting. There are also a number of bote related items scattered about the site.

Corsair.

102

Catalina.

0304

Bearcat.

05

Hawker Nimrod.

11

Sea Hurricane.

10

Martlet. Yes I know it's also a Wildcat but this one's a Martlet trust me.

0908

Corsair and Seafire.

07

Sea Fury and Bearcat. Although painted as the prototype Fury this is actually an export Sea Fury FB11 which had the  shipboard gear removed.

06

.1514

Thanks.  When I was stationed in the UK, trips to Cambridge was a pleasure.  And the few visits to Duxford were a nice treat.

I do miss punting the river.
