I mean seriously, do you need to outsource the fix?
Thats fine, whats the reason for implementing something so inherently broken as 'satellite scan' but calling it radar?

We needed this thread again. Please understand that this is an old game engine so they are limited in what they can do with it and both radar & hydro simply increase the auto spot range.

I know it's an old game engine.  It's a game engine that should not have had radar implemented.

If they can't do it properly, it should be pulled until they can figure it out.

 

And until they do something about it, yes, this thread again.

personally I like the radar now... it great for huntin down dd and smoker...

Pretty much this. Without radar/hydro smoke becomes overpowered but then the OP has 2/3 of his 2400 matches in DD's so must want his I win button back.

I think the dev term for radar implementation is "FAD" (functions as designed). Why would they change it if it works as they want it to? Because you say so?

i wasn't aware radar was broken. It just counters idiots in dds that smoke up before knowing where the radar ships are.

Some cruisers at T4 have hydro, yes. Radar isn't till tier 7, definitely not at T4.

Not all, but many do.  Phoenix, for example, does not.

Kuma: Hydro and Cat Fighter

Phoenix: no extra, only dcp

Svietlana, no extra, only dcp

Karlsruhe: no extra, only dcp

Danae: Repair Party and Hydro

Duguay-Trouin: Cat Fighter

 

So, out of the regular Tech Tree, only 2 of the cruisers have hydro at Tier 4.

Radar is functioning exactly as it's intended to, and therefore does not require a fix. You meant to ask when (if) it will be getting changed.

Of course it is, because it can see through land.  The rest is not broken, merely annoying if you're trying to use smoke.

I don't blame people for being annoyed that Radar and Hydro can see through land.  That said, I understand why it doesn't work as it should.  And perhaps it would be difficult to fix, because it would probably require a fair amount of code to determine if there was an actual unblocked line of sight between the radar ship and each possible enemy ship within range.

No, it should be fixed.  It just may not be possible to do so, either at all or without considerable difficulty.
