I'm kinda burned out. Lousy time seeing as have about 7 premium days left and 124 kraken flags.

 

My issue's basically the limited maps. Less than 24! Like....what? They must be busy with building new ship lines. New maps would be pleasant. The release has generally been what, maybe 1 or 2 new maps every 6 months?

 

Maybe they should consider outsourcing the map designs and whatever to their STs and other volunteers, let them whip up some ideas for maps. They should ask iChase if he'd like to be the "iMap," you know?

 

Your thoughts?

The teams that make the ships and those who make the maps aren't the same.  I too would like more maps, but I doubt that team is getting much in the line of resources.  I wouldnt mind seeing some of the lower tier maps get extended borders so more of the map is useable and larger tier ships can use it.

I simply want my option to mute a certain maps. my favorite Ocean rarely comes!

I burnt out after about 1500 games grinding , took a reset about what I really liked at Wows,

and got over it with a play change

new maps wasn't part of it but I have noticed of late there's a lot of same O same O , I do like the escort missions for Vl ships it would be nice to have them for other tiers

There's plenty of maps. My problem is getting the same map multiple times in a row.

I wouldn't mind if Tears of the Desert went bye-bye.

Dude honestly I get it but at the same time adding more maps to this game is just going to make everyone worse at the game for a while because they'll have to remember more and more strats. So, eh

Me too Reymu. I wish they'd outsource map design to the players too. 

They have two new maps for operations. No reason they shouldn't be using those. The base defense would make a fine Epicenter map...

I would like completely random maps every game (well at least some games). Sure they may give one team an advantage but that will eventually even out. So often experienced players know exactly where to set, where traffic patterns exit, what islands are easy to shoot over, what caps are good or bad..... and the game becomes a race to get to certain spots and wait.

I wouldn't mind lack of variety in maps so much if we had a greater proportion of good maps. I don't generally mind seeing, say, Fault Line, even if I've just played several games on it. Tears of the Desert, however, is not improved in the slightest by having just played five games on Shatter.

 

...still wondering what happened to that one Rendezvous map from the Public Test a while back, which I never remember to bother asking about when Q&As come around.

You know, Killer Whale or Newport would make good Epicenter maps if the epicenter is in the corner with the base, rather than in the middle of the map.

 

Spawn one team in the northeast and one in the southwest. Roughly equidistant from the navy base. That might be interesting.

High tier fights on  certain maps are just too small with ships having like 20-30 km shooting range and made be hacks are concern I never find it fun when a prince or a kurtov get spotted at the start we barely under a min or two and rounds are already hitting...

That's kinda what i was thinking. Or two cap domination in Killer Whale, one cap in the open water, the other inside the harbor.

This would be an easy option for them, scaling existing maps for more tiers is doable. Heck they do it for Ranked battles so we know they have the ability. But I am with the OP, am bored with the lack of map variety in game.

More maps would be nice, but it really sucks getting the same map repeatedly.  I've had many times in a row on the same one.   It gets a bit stale.

Not everyone can adapt new map quickly. More maps more camping behind island for some to adjusting new map into their brain. Soloman island for instance, stil have bb trying to go mid.:cap_haloween:and eat torpedo.

I did the Dunkirk PvE where you had to use the T6 UK DDs provided. Mines I can see being a major frustration, but leave them in a few marked areas (players who die there probably will learn to stay away). Add some 18km-range secondaries (2% HE chance, 30 rpm) to the cap near land, automatic spamming rounds on enemy team regardless if spotted, and test 'er out.

 

Maybe WG could even add a perk for taking a cap. 2 min, not reduced by multiple friendlies in same circle, but if capped, gives back 10% max of your HP. DDs and smoking and radar (and torp spamming) will make it frustrating. Put it on a single map, or rotate the bonus randomly every patch; just keep it a good bonus, but unpredictable when it appears, and always require taking a difficult cap.

Scale, yes, but a map the size of Ocean or Tears, it's a bit annoying even for DDs if they need to reposition since travel time is usually no-action time.

 

As I recall, from observing high tier matches, players seem more likely to push a cap if there's enough cover for even a BB.

 

Did a bit of map design when I made custom battles in Star Wars: Galactic Battlegrounds, so wouldn't mind giving WG a few rough ideas.

Come now, all the maps are good, just varying degrees of difficulty. Don't mind a challenge, since that'd be expected with T8+.

 

Plus for time being, I don't see any prospect of WG allowing people to choose a map in Random.

A change is as good as a rest.

If they would just move the spawn and map locations about it would be a big help.

Before Alpha I suggested that they switch up the cap zones every battle and make it so you had to find the red zone. I still wish they would do that.

There are too many players who always hide behind the same rock. No wonder it gets old.
