The site now has advertisements on it which it never had before and this is the longest i have seen the site not update, also now it is affecting other servers as well. Sadly this means that most likely the site is not being maintained anylonger and not being paid for by the creator of Warships Today. I enjoyed using the site for sometime now and I hope its creator is ok and has just moved on to others things. If the site is gone for good i would like to thank its creator for their work on making it and maintaining it for as long as he or she did. :Smile_honoring:

yes, but the ads were rarely if ever for competing war games. why would you allow (           ) to advertise on a WoWs based site? that would be like a company offering chevyrolet, stats having ford ads on their website....

the last info posts are over a year old, he/she/it never responds to emails.

bots.

It's done this before.  Probably be back up in a few days.

But if not, there are other sites to get your stat fix from.

You want the person(s) who run the site to front the price to run or do you think this all runs on a free website? Server space and bandwidth cost cash and they have been running with what they could afford which is why they have been having on going problems

I started coding my own website for stats about 4 months ago.

After trying to deal with WG's API and HORRIBLE dev interface I said screw it, not worth it, and that was after a firend and I had spent some serious time trying to make it work. WG data is terrible It's no wonder they have so much trouble with balancing things. So it would not surprise me if the guys at WT have just finally had enough of trying to deal with constant corrupt data, no data, and terrible naming schemes and just said hell with it.

To bad it had to happen on a day I only played one game and got detonated on the first salvo that hit me.

The ads aren't solicited by or sold to the owner of the site.  The ads are provided by the ad company and are targeted at the individual viewers.  They are based on the links that the viewer of the site has clicked, not based on what the owner of the site wants to advertise.  If you click on links for competing games, you will likely get ads for competing games.  If you click on links for automobiles, you will most likely get ads for automobiles.  The list goes on and on.

I haven't seen much activity on warships.today in the past week.  They did indicate a bit ago that their site was becoming overwhelmed.  It doesn't look good.

hint: Those ads are targeted ads.

They are catered to your browsing history.

This is why it's a good idea to visit Hello Kitty website after a good PornHub session, don't want a family member getting those advertisments, bonus is when the NSA hacks your computer it will give the a good wth moment lol

If the NSA hacks your computer, you should be more worried about what they put on your HDD than what they might see there.
