I remember when I first came upon this video, and the subsequent chills I got when I saw the first opening volleys of AA.

 

 

Simply astonishing the volume of flak they could churn out...

Even more astonishing when you realize that for every light you see fly out at a plane there are normally 3 or 4 you don't since they are not tracer rounds.

I use one of Aslain's mods to increase the visibility of the AA. At times it can be distracted but most of the time, it makes the game more immersive.

honestly, yes, it would be nice to see, but WG has other, most likely more important, things, but maybe someday, they'll come to that

Early AA was a game of volume. Before radar guided guns.

 

Even with Prox fuses it was still a volume game.

 

Even more so after the Japanese started using Kamakaze. The name of the game was to stick as many AA guns on the ship as possible. To hell with the stability report.

And there lies the problem.

More particules obscure the view of the target, and you can't put it behind an option in the settings otherwise those who turn it off have a distinct advantage over those who keep it on because it looks pretty.

I do not have a screenshot right now because I'm at work.  I can work on producing one tonight.  However, trees can block vision over islands, making it more difficult to line up shots.  If it wasn't for the fact that I do screenshots for the Wiki, I'd leave them off.  In fact, I turn them off whenever I play competitive modes like Ranked.

Then, I would argue that those trees should not be able to be toggled. Still, that still wouldn't be as common as AA going off.
