Problem was too much gold was given and clan could hold too much territory.
Gold amount can be decreased a lot and the more provinces the clan holds the longer their killed ships are unusable. That would decrease some of the problems

Last I recall; WG straight up said they weren't going to do WoT's thing without omitting the Gold (Doubloon) factor, or reducing it heavily to the point it's only valuable enough to earn as pocket change mainly for things like Module changing (25g) or some FXP/Doubloon or Silver/Doubloon conversions, or with some serious savings over time, enough to buy a Permacamo for say, your favorite T10.

Mainly; they want to avoid a Gold bloom and Clan-backroom negotiating for holdings to facilitate Doubloon earnings, and leave it to a mere trickle, providing a means to earn some Doubloons outside of their SCs or occasional Events/Campaigns.

I think one of the concepts they mentioned was leaving Doubloons to a low fixed rate regardless of Clan size and rank (instantly removing any reason for strong clans to lock out smaller ones), but instead improve other rewards such as post-battle maintenance discounts, ship cost reduction, research reduction, and the like (which they're doing with the Clan Harbors), and only awarding a larger sum of Doubloons as part of certain seasonal Clan-based Events (such as Clan Tournaments), in place of reward ships, which allows for a greater Doubloon infusion, limited to the top Clans per season/tournament. And also conveniently channels Clan aggression into those Tournaments instead.

1/3 the clan size of WOT clans.

This is Strongholds not Clan Wars. It won't be clan wars IMO until they introduce a global map and the ability to declare war on a clan and attack them directly.

But this is a start and hopefully not the end of it.

They were originally going to go with the whole global map thing, but the devs put out a poll/vote on the RU forums. Over 90% of the RU voted against the global map idea. So the devs made a comment on the RU forums saying they scratched the entire global map idea and weren't going to do it. About a month or so ago in a Q&A they stated for clan wars that it's going to be run like ranked/supremacy league. Where you will have seasons, but no global map. You'll have to set up matches through the clan wars tab and it'll basically be just like a sports league. Teams with the best records will move on and win the season.

Clan gold and "dead tank locking" were incentive to get more tier 10s... People used to race to get latest OP Tier 10 to use it in clan wars.
The incentive to get another Tier 10 is greatly diminished now.

Hello all.

Lone Wolves is accepting applications.

This is a clan that will not have coms, will not division, will not participate on the global map but we will pool our oil for the buffs to all members.

The clan for people with no interest in clans.

Cheers.

Hmm...is this going to be like fleet bases in Star Trek Online?  That's what it looks like. Of course, I have no familiarity with WoT's clan setup.

This is very much like the base system in Armored Warfare
