Limit max amount of destroyers in a game

I know this is a  DD weekend but this is just ridiculous. I spend every game with 4-5 DDs on each team which means the entirety of the game is spent firing blind into smoke and dodging torp walls. Who actually finds this fun? The only solution is to limit the maximum amount of destroyers on each team to three.

i get outrunned in my kagero by battleship
my torp reload in 2 minutes
my engine get blowned up the minute someone sneeze in my direction
i must get rid of smoke from torp reload module
battleship can 1shot me with ramdom penetration if i try to make myself a smaller target 
my torp get detected really easely
my gun traverse is on par with british battleship gun traverse

and you want to make my cue time longuer ?

Nah, you just need to adapt to the team composition. Lots of BBs, CA/CLs, DDs, it makes the game different, and you need to play differently. That's not an oversight, it's a feature.

As someone who plays all classes except CV's, this is kinda funny.  Lots of BB's on BB weeks.  Not fun for CA/CL's.  Fun for DD's.  Lots of CA/CL's on CA/CL weeks, not fun for DD's.  Fun for BB's. Lots of DD's on DD weeks, not fun for BB's.  Fun for CA/CL's.  The key here is to rotate to the proper alpha dog at the proper time.  Then, it's always fun.  And, you can bet I'm running my best AA ships on CV weeks.  This is a prime example why one should run all classes.  It's simply more fun.

Everyone has to deal with CV and BB weekends. Why not DDs? :Smile_amazed:

I have to agree with OP. Battles with so many DDs are really boring, only smoke and torps. There is nothing to shoot at.

Probably the best answer is to limit the number or each class of ship in each game. May mean a bit longer in waiting for the game but the team set-ups would be more balanced.

That's why radar was introduced.  And soon firing from smoke screens laid will be penalized so that's why I'm grinding the Russian DD's.

Well I for one would like to see limits in the game.

Two capital ships (that's a battleship or a carrier) per team. So two battleships, or two carriers, or one of each on each team. 

That's the game I want to play.

All this will do is increase the amount of time you wait to get into a game.  The longer you have to wait, the more rules matchmaker gets to break.  So you wait five minutes, for example, and then get a game with only three people a side.  And of course it's the most mismatched setup.

 

So if you are going to get into a game that's got messed up matchmaking, why would you want to wait five minutes first?

or each DD player gets 5 bots to order around and each cruiser player gets 3 bots.

Unfortunately only two lines have radar, so we dont have radar all battles. Im looking foward to this smoke change. This might end with those boring smoke battles, with all ships hidding inside smoke doing nothing.

Yeah, I'll be great when they all go back to kissing the map borders.

Well we can always get rid of radar and smoke all together. Might as well at this point.  Its obvious the devs are running out of ideas to balance this game.
