We have the Japanese and American CVs, oh and also a German one covered in controversy.

I think the next line coming could be...British CVs!??  Here are a few examples of what we might see (someday?).

HMS Ark Royal

HMS Glorious

HMS Furious

HMS Illustrious Class

Now me being very bias (part Japanese) towards playing Imperial Japanese Navy, I hope to see them in battle someday so I can sink them and their Tea toting Captains.

Just a thought...

Only other "full line" (aka, basically no paper or imagination needed on any level) few of us have done write ups what the line/playstyle could be, likely closer to IJN. Though debate as to if Audacious, Malta, or the ice CV should be the tier 10, mostly between Audacious and Malta. German, Italian, French and Russian are all "Maybe's, but have few built ships or tech gaps", some of which is aircraft.

T4 HMS Argus-the first full flush deck carrier. She deserves to be in the game

T5 HMS Hermes-first ship designed as a carrier from the keel up

T6 HMS Furious-the first carrier converted from another warship type

T7 HMS Ark Royal-the first modern design carrier in the RN

T8 HMS Illustrious-the first armored carrier-Regia Marina's nemesis ship

T9 HMS Eagle (Audacious Class)

T10 HMS Malta-a paper ship that David Hobbs dicusses in British Aircraft Carriers-designed but never laid down-I admit I am not a fan of paper designs

T5 Premium HMS Pursuer (Bogue Class)

T8 Premium HMS Victorious-from the  Bismarck chase to filling in for USS Enterprise in the Pacific in 1943 to Okinawa with the BPF

No paper ships other than Malta. We have far too many as it is. This would match the USN line as is.

You can have Royal Navy CVs added to the game on one condition, Keep that HMS Ark Royal away  from my Bismarck...

I remember from a post a long time ago saying that the issue with RN CV's is that they had low hangar capacities and such.  Of course this post was pre Saipan where the idea of just giving flat out superior planes in smaller squadrons with smaller reserves wasn't thought of.  The Saipan does put an interesting idea in the mix though.  If we look at the line, the Illustrious carried like 40ish planes, maybe less, which at tier 8 is not enough.  That's like half of the Shokaku and Lex.  If you give them tier 9 planes at tier 8, that will be enough to compete with the other CV's, but not necessarily enough for them to be effective.  The Saipan can't drop against the Balti, there just aren't enough TB's in the squadron to make it to the Balti.  Three planes means you can keep your planes in the AA for half as long before they are shot down.  I do hope for the RN CV line, but at the rate of this CV rework, I think I might retire from the game before then.

This is kind of a no brainer as it's the only other nation that had CVs.

No No Mon chaton, you forget about the French, you are not alone.  France had the carrier Bearn.

The Bismarck chase Victorious would be pushing a tier 7. Many UK CV's were hampered by a low aircraft count so WG would likely have to make it some gimmick riddled abomination like the trollCV Saipan for it to be effective.

And the Italians had the Aquila, but the British is the only nation that remains that had a full line.

Other posibility for premium...HMS Illustrious was the carrier that attack the naval base of Taranto and sinking Conte di Cavour and badly damaging Littorio and Caio Duilio.

I'd prefer wargaming overhaul carrier mechanics before trying to add new ones.

They weren't hampered by a low aircraft count once they accepted the use of deck parks, Admiralty policy was to use small attack, escort and air defence formations, and to strike all aircraft below in the protected hanger before an air attack and rely on AA defence and ship armor only. Ark Royal never had air search radar installed before she was sunk. She got her radar info from Sheffield by signal lamp! Neither did Eagle. The use of a radar-controlled intercept fighter cap was learned by trial and error in the Med, and it almost cost them three armored carriers before they got it right by adopting USN/RAF fighter control practices in late 1942. When Victorious' and Ark Royal's Swordfish attacked Bismarck, the problem for the Germans was the Stringbags approached on their attack runs at so low an airspeed that German defensive AA fire control systems could not cope with it and they had to revert to manual control before their defensive fire started hitting. When they got on target, the fabric and metal frame construction of the aircraft was not hard enough to cause fusing and detonation of the small bursting charges and a lot of rounds went right through the aircraft without exploding, causing only minimal damage! Don't need a gimmick, just a deck park. 60 to 72 aircraft makes for a valid CV. Besides, the deck armor on RN armored carriers could keep HE bombs out, and was effective against 500lb SAP. The problem was the Stukas were dropping 500kg SAP bombs accurately! 1000 pounders! This heavy a bomb carried by a single-engined dive-bombing aircraft was thought impossible prewar by the RN and RAF despite knowledge that the USN could already do it, and 500lb protection was deemed adequate. Plus, not every CV has a Butch O'Hare flying cap! The current game mechanics work like radar controlled intercept for fighter direction by default. This is not a simple fix.

Even with the Corsairs in 44 and 45 Illustrious didnt carry more than 60 aircraft, and thats problematic at tier 8 given how fast tier 10 AA will shred those planes.

Ive always thought the lack of deck parking was more the condition of the atlantic ocean more than operational planning. During the Bismarck chase both the Ark Royal and the Vic were shipping water onto their flight decks at times.
