Obviously Katori is the best tier 3.  With her enourmous gun complement and blisteringly fast speed, it puts all other tier 3 CAs to shame.

1) Best at what?

2) To see their performance stats, check out warships.today. There you can get unbiased winrate, DPG and XPG statistics without bias from players and forumgoers.

In response to number 2.  I think that player bias is important in deciding which ship to buy.  Even ships that perform well can feel awful to play.  One example for me is La Gal.  I hated her.  She felt so terrible to play, despite the fact that she holds a win rate above most of my CAs regardless of tier.

Except that OP is asking for the 'best' cruiser, not the 'most fun'.

IDK this poll is based on best in tier and well Kut and Atago are very evenly matched at T8 each has its strengths each has its weaknesses

WoWs Stats & Numbers also has a useful ''ship comparison'' versus not only other ships but a series of tabs to see how performance varies across the server (50/25/10/5 percent of playerbase in a certain ship).

However, this site appears to use a slightly different metric than Warships Today as WR & average damage values showing green (positive) on WT are often only average (yellow) on WoWs Numbers.

I mean you put the Belfast against the Atlanta and Indianapolis, you already know which one is the best.

With the ships that i have:

Both Atago and Kutuzov are very good cruisers, and play very different from each other.

- Kutuzov is a escort cruiser, you play at ranges and in a passive way, its effective to farm damage but can also bem boring after a few battles. IFHE os a must have skill.

- Atago is a more active cruiser, amazing concealment and speed wich allows you to be more agressive. Its more risk to play but also more fun.

T6 Graf Spee is fun to play , has a different playstyle from anything we have in game so far, rewards good use of AP/HE. More tanky and slow for a cruiser, but not tanky enough to go 1v1 against BBs. Fun ship overall.

T3 Aurora, its a meh ship. Slow and lots of pew pew.

Perth...the most broken Tier 6 cruiser in the game.

Seriously?

Maybe when top Tier, but Perth doesn't scale well with her obscenely short range.

Feel free to look me up/Perth performance and see for yourself.  I stand by my statement.  Tier 6 CLs should not average over 75k a game.

*edit...I would also point out that it is also your best performing tier 6 cruiser.

With the spotting aircraft it goes to 15.35 km. Even when uptiered, Perth makes a good showing.

Unfortunately the "spotter" plane doesn't see anything unless a teammate sees it. IOW you are blind in your smoke unless you have a spotter. I don't like depending on teammates so the catapult fighter is much better for me. The fighter does see around islands and actually spots outside your smoke for you. Plus it stays up much longer than the spotter and has a shorter cooldown.

From the wiki:

Like the Catapult Fighter, it can potentially spot incoming torpedoes if it happens to fly over them. It may also detect concealed enemy ships out of your line of sight or regular detection range.

Now to make sure it does, use the direction center of catapult aircraft Co skill. So no problems with spotting even in smoke.  And oh yeah, mine stays up for 234 seconds. 6 seconds shy of 4 minutes.

Thank you.  When I first got the Perth, I asked about "spotting" planes vs. "fighters" and was incorrectly told that spotters didn't actually spot.

I just ran tests in the Training Room.  Saw a Fuso. Smoked up and it disappeared.  Launched spotter plane and voila!

Had a Podvoisky in there too and must remind you all that the planes move around in a circle.  Sometimes they may be on the opposite side from a low-detection DD.  Highly recommend the 2-plane skill for 1 skill point.

To Poll

You like to leave out allot of ships; tier seven is missing Flint and the ARP/dragon ships. Tier five is missing Krasny Krym, Murmansk and Marblehead. Tier six is missing Perth and Emden us the most popular seal clubber at tier two.

Yeah there's a lot of options missing. Perth, De Grasse, etc.

in some ways I find the Atlanta is better than being a Belfast than the Belfast is, and it has torpedoes too, I have both but like the rest of the UK cruiser line Belfast is let down by the iffy AP that sometimes couldn't damage a wet paper bag DD at close range at optimum angles and other times is capable of great miracles of penetration at angles and ranges it shouldn't vs CL/CA and BB.

at lest with the Atlanta the AP works or it doesn't in a relatively predictable way, and the low fire chance of HE is quite simply offset by the large number of rounds you can place in a short space of time, so you can flambé even the biggest of targets.
