HMS Monarch.

Curious about how others are finding this ship.

 

Every game I play in it moves more closer to the side of hating it. After KGV this thing feels terrible. The dispersion is high even at medium ranges, which is really awkword for a ship that is supposed to stay at medium range and not get too close, but I find the only way to consistently hit shells is to get too close.

 

Feels like the worst of the line for me so far. I think this is the one we're supposed to FXP through.

I have to agree and it was the first British BB I let go. If I start hearing it's an outstanding ship and it was my lack of talent that was to blame I would give it another shot... but I would be surprised to hear anyone rave about her.

me too..   I'm used to playing 15" guns at T8 with the Bismark, but I just couldn't hit a damn thing with Monarch and if I did all I got were shatters and it doesn't have the HE fire chance to back it up or the super heal and theres no way it can do a German Brawl, it hasn't got Bismarks armour, especially across the bow where Bismark has that 60mm reinforcing..   I have to assume this is the paywall ship and I have also got rid of it :)   Loving the KGV though :)

I love this ship!  Only played it a few times as a Corgi and it felt very natural for me.  Don't know what people are talking about accuracy issues...though I really didn't engage until mid range ~12km.

Perhaps, but at least the hull-form for Ca-136/CG-11 exists in-game; unlike those of any of the Aegis ships...

 

In any case; I think my first introduction to Aegis was in Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising.

Very true. KGV doesn't start fires any more often than most other BBs. I start more fires with Dunkerque and Scharnhorst. And I don't have DE on any of those ship's Captains.

I've never driven Monarch but I have been up against them and they're nothing to take lightly. Their guns hurt and they seem to be pretty robust.

Can we talk about the Monarch premium camo for a minute. 

 

They must have known nobody would like this ship because this is the laziest premium camo I have see so far.

You know Monarch have something like 11km concealment or less. It's insane.

 

Sure you don't have Lion or Conqueror Fire chance and HE but if you have the Monarch, it means you have played the QE...And if you played QE as an HE spammer well yeah it must be painfull. Her HE isn't actually that good and sticking with AP is probably the best thing you can do. You have 26 sec reload though which is actually not bad if you want to switch between HE and AP.

I have had zero consistency with it's AP. I have shot at ships that were under 10k full broadside to me at the soft part, not the main belt. and had non-pens.

I just snagged this over the weekend and didn't realize how terrible its stock range was until I was already in the battle.... wow 16km is rough for a BB in tier 8... hell even 18.5 sucks. Guess this will be the first big grind of the line for me.
