hi.

evidently I am a glutton for punishment, and am trying CVs again.

before they got rid of the manual drop for T4 (and T5 too??) I was pretty sure there was a way to adjust the approach drop angle, indicated by a little green arrow on the white dotted circle around the target ship. twice in the last couple battles, I've been able to adjust that, the rest of the time there was no little green arrow to put the cursor on to adjust, just a green box where the torps would be launched. there was no way to effect that relative to the bombers or ship.

what the [edited] am I doing wrong? tried holding down alt (nothing) control (nothing) shift (nothing) RMB (nothing) and searching around for where the circle would be before clicking on the LMB....

have watched 7 or 8 videos, they are ALL from 2015, with one exception, and they are ALL going over manual drop procedure, which I don't have. checked out the key settings, there is no clue there.

I recently started carriers and another forumer suggested farazelleth's videos on carrier play on youtube to help learn. I found the introductory ones very good to get me started.

There are a ton of them for all aspects of carrier play on his channel but I've only just scratched the surface so can't comment on the more technical ones.

Try hitting them from slightly behind.  This usually will get another torp hit, or at the very least punish those who are dumb enough to turn away more severely.

Main thing I do is make sure the ship is in open water or at least fairly open water before getting the TBs to attack since they can be prone to topping an island otherwise.

Only exception to this is seeing what Torpedo cone looks like when setting them to attack with the planes far enough out to still stop the attack if the torpedo run looks likely to torp an island.

Also try getting all you bomber squadrons grouped into a nice tight group then send them to attack a target since it seems to have an overwhelm the target idea programmed in and often creates good attacks to the point of cross dropping Torpedoes while the dive bombers hit the center.

Takes a moment to launch the all bombers from the CV, group them tightly together, then send them at the target, but does seem to help when doing auto drops. Just be sure you have Fighters escorting along just in case enemy fighters show up or better yet have the enemy fighters occupied some place else.

The lack of that button is very odd. There is no key associated with it; as long as you have the squadron selected it should be visible. A few things to try: perhaps you are de-selecting the squadrons? Remember that you need to click and drag the green arrow. Alternatively, perhaps you are leaving it too late and the torpedo bombers are already going into the drop. The bombers are locked into place for a second or two before the torpedoes are released, in which time you can no longer adjust the angle of approach. It could also be that the green arrow is covered by an island? How does it work for dive bombers?

If none of that works, it might be helpful if you could upload a small replay demonstrating the problem. If we can't identify it, you should try checking your game files for corruption in the startup menu (I doubt this will work, but it is a good thing to do anyway), and contact support.

this is how pathetic CV's are.

The op will watch one video, unless hes retarded,  practice in coop for 20 matches then watch his wtr skyrocket as he can now land every attack with impunity.   Dive bombers are a little rng but torps?

If after 20 or so matches in coop if you cannot get cross dropping down which is a kill 90% of the time you should not play.   Carriers are by far the easiest ship in the game to play.  Once you learn what to do its over, you can dominate and carry matches all day.  Dont worry bro, your wtr will go up no matter what you do in those [edited] ships.

Ok listen- you're new here and I absolutely understand that it can be extremely frustrating to not know what to do and get deleted by a CV player five minutes into a match.

However, aside from your comment being a salt rant which is both unhelpful and unrelated to the topic of discussion, you are just flat out wrong. Playing CV well is extremely difficult, and even the most skilled CV players can be rendered unable to act if the enemy team coordinates and knows what it is doing. Worse still, CV gameplay is set up such that tiny micro mistakes can cost you air superiority and put you at the mercy of the enemy CV. There is a reason why nobody sane plays CVs.

too close to have time to find and manipulate the aim point on several, had moved to another group on a couple other launches. have not used dive bombers yet, hosho 1 F, 1 DB group. thank you.

this post, and several others I have run across indicate you are nothing but a bag of crapattempting to get attention by trolling. have seen no signs of intelligence from you, nor anything that would help the game. please [edited] off.
