After the arrival of the Operations, I've been thinking a long time about this (and I probably wasn't the only one). It would be awesome to add a game mode that featured the standard ops team (+ a little bot help if necessary) against a single, extremely powerful, boss-like ship (Something like Tier XI ships. You know, the biggest and meanest projects ever proposed that didn't crystalized). I think it would be quite the challenge to face the H-44's or the Super Yamato's doomsday guns or standing your ground against the USS United States' jet ordinance. However, I think it would require to use Tier VIII+ ships (Yamato's 18inch can already overmatch any bow, so imagine what 20inch guns would do) and perhaps even restrict the variation of team members (You won't survive jets dropping 8,000 pounds of explosives over you unless you got a great AA set up or an Air Superiority CV with you), but I think it's possible to implement it effectively and that it would be a great addition to the game. What do you think?

Sure, a boss would be nice. I don't know about jets though. Maybe have a T10 boss already in game vs T6s, the normal operation tiers. It would be like the Halloween event in 2015.

It would be cool, but you'd need to break up the engagements. For example, if it were a Yamato, you'd need enemy DDs to smoke him up and move the fight around the map. Maybe there would be an AI CV or two as well, but it's a cool idea.

I want the superweapons from the Naval Ops series, in particular, Warship Gunner 2 to be bosses in this game.  They'd be a challenge for even a team of T10s to fight off.

 

As an example of how stupidly-strong these things, are, this is the first one you face in WG2: a massive "speed cruiser" called Wirbelwind.  Literally a Montana with 4-6 (depending on the game) secondary turrets removed in favor of quintuple torpedo tubes, the rest replaced with 5"/62 high-velocity guns, and all the light AA guns replaced with MBRLS launchers, CIWS mounts, and heavy autocannons.  On top of that, it has a monster propulsion plant that pushes the whole thing along at 80 knots.
