9,462 [BONKZ] Ducky_shot Privateers 8,058 posts 21,945 battles Report post #1 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) Well, the great Labor Day Corgi event is over. I had a blast being a Corgi and hope you all had a blast killing us. My philosophy as a Corgi was to play as hard as possible for the win and help the team and with the win secured, then yolo out and let the remaining enemy ships get a chance at me while still trying to take them down with me. My WR was 59%, about the same as my main account, but my survival rating was only 13% and I happily maintained a K/D ratio over 1, despite the low survivability number. I was able to play a total of 95 games over the weekend. I was killed for prizes in 83 of them for a total amount of 41,500 doubloons, 249 container and 2075 signals given away. Congrats to those of you who sunk me! Congrats to @phriendly for sinking me twice! Not a very friendly thing to do, I might add, @phriendly... I am happy to report, despite the odd friendly, joking, near-miss salvo at the opening of the game, I ran into no TK issues. A few people were sure that I would guarantee a loss for them by being on their team and yoloeing and dying early. Others were convinced that I was a guaranteed loss for them being on the opposite team and causing their team mates to focus on me and forget all else. I did observe 1 TK on the enemy team for a supposed kill steal regarding my demise in that particular match. Fun moments of the weekend included: 1. Dodging an enemy Cleveland's ram in tight quarters and having him compliment me after. 2. Running away from an evil, savage Flint who I was determined not to die to. I then ate a CV torp in my smoke screen by hitting the wrong direction key and then realized that I knew the captain in the Flint and have divved and chatted with him in the past... I probably would have still been determined not to die to him. :D 3. Seeing another Corgi (super unicum Wiki Editor) in his main account running a seal clubbing Gremy in a triple unicum division and hunting him down and killing him with my akatsuki en route to a win, only to have the favor returned by pretty much the same division the next day when I overran my smoke in my Minotaur... 4. Trying to carry with a Blyskawica and ending up being the last guy killed en route to a loss where I had more xp than the leader on the winning team. 5. Realizing that dispersion on low tier battleships is terrible as I sat still at the end of a couple of matches burning them down giving them an opportunity to kill me and watching them miss time and again. 6. 11 on the priority target is as scary as it sounds. Sorry, no screen shot... had other buttons to mash... Best win streak was 13, worst losing streak was 7. Funniest quote in response to my opening message: “ooooooo look, a corgi...” Reason it was funny, user's name was: Morbid Curiosity Another one where the enemy cv just posted “noted” and then tried to kill me in my dd. I ducked him by sitting right next to a Hood, convincing him to go elsewhere. Most common comment was by far: “Why are you always on my team?” I was impressed at the amount of players that would respond to other player's questions about the event instead of me having to answer all the questions. Kudos to you!! Had fun with all the rest of the Corgi's in the Corgi discord, laughing about results and players posting funny things in chat and coming up with good comebacks for some of them. The common response to people asking if we were bots became: “beep boop, I am a human, I like oxygen” Thank you @Doomlock for all your hard work on the discord server! I had 31 Corgi's in 26 of my games. I did not have to kill any of them, but there were a few firefights while contesting caps in dd focus sessions. I'm looking at you @bat1159man!! I realized a number of things with the ships and resources in the Corgi accounts: 1. Iwaki is a fun ship that I am very disappointed I cannot get in my account. You alpha testers are lucky to have it! 2. Blysk with a 19 point captain is a blast!! I will be putting all my free captain xp to making mine a 19 point captain. 3. Minotaur has a short smoke screen, just like the rest of the British cruisers, doh! 4. Tier 10 CV is definitely not for me! 5. Neither is Enterprise. 6. Was kinda sad at not playing GZ as it was not included in the accounts. I wanted to try it out full secondary spec. 7. Neither was Flint or Black, but Ranked players: You deserve some exclusivity! 8. Conqueror was OK, I think I prefer my Montana. 9. I'm beginning to think that Izyaslav is a better t4 DD than Clemson... Like a Kiev at t4: torps are there and they work ok, but who cares with those guns... 10. 250 of all the special economic flags is a tease on an account with pretty much unlimited resources. Thank you @NikoPower for giving me the opportunity to participate, it was a blast!! I realize how much work goes into setting this up and getting the accounts ready and dealing with things during the event. Now the hard part comes after the event and getting all the rewards put out there. How about the rest of you Corgi's? What are some of your best and funny moments from the past weekend? Congrats to @mmfullen for running his first 36 battles without a loss and only surviving 4 times in that run. My condoleces to @Lert for surviving a battle. Hope you feel better soon @LittleWhiteMouse, was sorry your quest for 125 had to be stopped due to illness. Congrats to you that managed to get in 100+ games!! To those of you who complained about this event, I am sorry that you cannot have fun playing games and don't want others to have fun either, maybe you would be happier if you were working instead of playing? My apologies to the poor WG employees that now have to go credit thousands of accounts manually with the rewards that were earned. BORK BORK!! Now i have to find another plan to get Dunkerque with doubloons (i only need 450 more) Extra: I liked Flint and Atlanta to hunt down corgis due to the ambush potential, but usually the BBs in my team were getting them with brutal salvos. Our first encounter in the cap we both shot at each other and then when I went around the other way you were just running for your life and pulling an untactical Notser. I figured i'd take a little off you and help the team out...
71 [-SYN-] TheGreyGhost91 Members 218 posts 4,513 battles Report post #17 Posted September 5, 2017 I ran into a few during the final hours, sank two of the fleet. Corgi 191 in a Fuso division. That one stands out more, because I sank them, then dueling their division mate who knocked out my number 2 turret (in a QE) and we rammed each other. And Corgi 226 in a Dunkerque, who I knocked out during the cleanup of a match.

Trying to win matches with the added difficulty of almost everyone aiming at me gave the game such a thrill, and to do so knowing that death in a match only gave to the community. I didn't have the best results compared to other corgis, but there they are. Fun times for me and most of the other in the matches i played. Corgi 136 wishing everyone farewell for now. (and thanks Niko for the opportunity to be a corgi captain)
444 OgreMkV Members 1,348 posts 14,244 battles Report post #20 Posted September 5, 2017 I had a great time as Corgi_172. Best game... My Nurnburg... 239 main battery hits, 8 torp hits, 10 secondary hits, a citadel and 2 planes killed. Sadly only 2 ship kills. I had confederate, high caliber, dev strike, and flesh wound... we still lost. But I did finish with more XP than anyone in the match (including the other team). The other interesting game was a double strike in a Shimakaze... both with "Just a Flesh Wound" was I was killed just after I launched torps. The only other match that was super memorable was early Friday in an Orion. We only had 2-3 ships left and they had only lost 2-3. But they were scattered and came into range one at a time. So, every ship they had had 2 Orions and a Wyoming focusing on it. I ended with 4 kills and something like 25 fires started. We did win that one. Wonderful, but long, weekend. Not much grief once the event started and nothing that couldn't be ignored. It's a whole new concept though to try and secure the win and then get killed. Sorry to the guy that was last on their team and got me with 2 torps leaving me with 5 HP left but no flooding and then got deleted for game end before he could fire that final salvo. Major neg reps to the guy that TK's me in a match when I had 150 HP left to stop anyone on the red team getting any prizes. M

0 [MOIST] OmarTheGoatBreeder Beta Testers 6 posts 6,971 battles Report post #25 Posted September 5, 2017 188 here, This event was hands down the most fun I've had in this game. Knowing that when you die that you are giving out a reward is very... rewarding lol. But that doesn't mean I ever made it easy! I managed a 52% win rate with a 1.1 KD, but only got 56 games. Oddly enough, I played mostly destroyers, where on my main account I've played mostly cruisers and battleships. I found out the next line of ship I'm going to grind in the German DDs (Z46 and Z52 are monsters!). I learned that I still hate tier 6 with a passion but love tier 4. Never had any TK problems, but there was occasional salt. I actually had one or two different players kill me twice during the event. Congrats to you guys. I was surprised, though, with the fact that I was only every mega-focused one time. I was playing the Hindenburg and got deleted within the first 5 minutes of the game from long range by 8-9 enemies. Overall, as i said, it was the most fun I've had in Warships. Next time it comes up I definitely hope I can participate as a Corgi again. Hope everyone enjoys their dank prizes! 188, out! *Soft borks in the distance*
