What to put Admiral Yamamoto on?

Can't seem to make up my mind whether to put Yamamoto on a ship like Yamato which would be rather fitting since it was the IJN Flagship, or maybe another BB? 

Other option is I have taken a great liking to some IJN Cruisers which would be fun to have him on since often I can pull off 1st blood Award in those thanks to encounting a DD or another CA I can kill, which would activate that bonus...

DDs are currently adequately covered since Low and mid tier IJN DDs do not absolutely need Captain over 15 points and CVs are too situational in what they can deal with to waste Yamamoto on. 

Still leaves me with the dilemma of choosing between making him a CA or BB Captain, must say the graphics changes from his being on a ship sound entertaining lol.

I know we have a month before last stage actually gets release so I guess I still have some time, but deciding is still driving me crazy lol.

Yammy for sure will be his home in my port. Just seems most fitting (and where he will be used the most).

I think IJN cruiser is the best, since getting FB with the DD or BB depends a lot on chance and RNG, though in my case, I'll put my Yamamoto in Haku if I ever buy it. The fast-moving TB on that ship and proliferation of DDs make for a decent shot at FB.

I might put her on my Taiho when I get her then to the Haky since I'll need a high point commander for high tier cvs.

I probly put him on the shima or my t10 carrier.  Because of the first blood and the kraken.  Trying to get 6 kills in the yami happens alot less on that ship for me.

The real gem is Kraken. It reduces all weapon reload times by about 1/3 and restores a good chunk of HP (believe it's 40% of your ship's total HP). However, most of the time a player getting Kraken is after the match is already decided.

Does teh FB give you anything?  I thought it does.

It gives you an extra usage of each consumable.

Personally not a fan of his gimmick, as I'd much prefer the way they've done for Seagal and Dunkirk, where certain skills were modified, rather than this "well, if you get a specific achievement you get something, otherwise nuts." Especially since Kraken in particular is, as mentioned, almost always going to be when the game was already decided anyways.

People remember him for the Pearl attack, and tend to forget he wasn't exactly the greatest commander of the fleet afterwards.

I will put Yamamoto on either Nagato or Yamato, probably on Yamato. He used both as flagships during his career.

What blunders did he make?  Yes, I understand some things didn't have the best outcomes, but that doesn't mean they were bad decisions.

Put him on a Kuma and make him earn his way up!!

Considering his special abilities, I'd say mid tier CV or a BB. 

Depending on your opening shot choice against a Cruiser you're likely to get that opening First Blood. 

His Second Wind ability would probably be easier to accomplish with a CV over a BB though depending on tier. 

But if you build him on a BB vs CV He'll potentially feel more at home splitting duties across your premium non-CVs.
