Campaigns always looked daunting to me.  I don't have T8+ ships for the smaller campaigns.  Silence of Victory is T4+ but 10 missions and 119 tasks.  But, you can make that work for you.  Choose campaign tasks to correspond to whatever missions and challenges you are undertaking.  If a mission requires fire then choose campaign tasks that are related.

You can finish a campaign mission without completing all the tasks  Then you can go back and pick up tasks that you bypassed.  Today I need to set 8 fires so I have chosen tasks that are fire related.  I am completing a mission and also making progress on the campaign and winning campaign rewards.  Win win  .

Campaign rewards are not the best.  You mostly get signal flags (which I like and use).  Today I won 125 doubloons which I will use to convert elite XP to free XP to upgrade a ship later.  When you complete Silence of Victory and all 119 tasks you will know you have a real accomplishment.

Be sure to read task criteria carefully.  Most have to be completed in random but some are random and coop.  Good hunting but don't aim at me.  :)

Like the Yamamoto Campaign stage three... Gonna be repeating those last two tasks a lot.

Maybe if I was iChase or Fara or that Lady who's so good with CVs, I'd consider the idea of even bothering to try any of the other tasks.

I'm in the same boat, just keep playing the DD and CA missions over and over to get through it. Only place I belong in a CV is the Training Room

Try driving a CV in the next PT.  The commands are easier than most think.  I was CL all the time.  Now I drive the Langley and grinding for the Independence to fit out as a scenario ship. PT offers a great chance to try other ships at varying tiers without having to make a real commitment.

Oh I do okay but I don't have any fun. You are right, I learned the Mini Map controls and can do much better but that overhead is as painful as playing slow BB's

For me I am constantly analyzing the map to know my next move.  I use my fighters aggressively so they keep me busy.  I agree that BBs are too slow and boring.

Yea I do too. My problem is I tend to play everything like a DD. Out front and objective based. I'm the CV guy that is up the butt of our main force if we have one and get deleted. I have the same issues in BB's, I just push it too far.

I know its not the strategic role for CL but I am learning that if I play behind or along side DD, CL and BB that my battle scores are a lot better.  Team mates want me out front but that is suicide.

I had a battle today in my Cleveland where I was in the middle providing AAA support and burning BB's - 20I + on a New York and I got the kill - until suddenly, my whole team that was left sailed to the CV and left me in the front.

Oh, well. I can use the detonation flags I earned.
