743 [CAST] Murcc [CAST] Members 2,844 posts 12,007 battles Report post #8 Posted September 3, 2017 I've not had any crashes in over a year until this update. I've had 2 since the update. Both were in-game crashes where I had to restart the game and log back into the game and resume playing the match I was in. I'm not running any mods either, so its not that. There is something a little different in this update that is a bit unstable on some rigs. Not everyone is having the crashes, but when it happens randomly with some of us with enough power to normally not have the issue, there is a random glitch. Keep en eye on it and record (screen shot) the crash pop-up info if possible. It'll help with dianostics. Report it to WG.
992 [HELLS] GrandAdmiral_2016 Members 2,971 posts 41,704 battles Report post #9 Posted September 3, 2017 If you have a partitioned hard (ex. :C and :D ) , install it on the one with the most free space, normally drive D. On most computers drive C is the Windows default install location and the partition is just large enough to handle Win 10 and MS Office and a few smaller apps on preconfigured computers. Playing with partition size is not for the faint of heart. The game is installed on drive D on my machine, by far the largest drive, and works without problems. When the update install program comes up it defaults to C and you have to tell it to install on D. I had this problem on my machine and had to do a complete uninstall from C and reinstall it on D, a pain in the butt because the process takes 4 hours! 1,113 [CHASE] Komrade_Rylo Beta Testers, In AlfaTesters 2,973 posts 13,112 battles Report post #10 Posted September 3, 2017 This happens in every single game every time a new patch drops. WG can't custom tailer a patch for each individual's pc. Before reinstalling you should have tried to repair your install files in the launcher, that typically fixes most issues. You can try it now and it may work. Also make sure you install through the new wargaming launcher.
259 [SCCC] _greifer WoWS Community Contributors 1,019 posts 24,356 battles Report post #11 Posted September 3, 2017 this patch has been fine for me. The only issue encountered was a failure to load into game. Killing the process and relaunching the game had me load in with only a minute game time loss. That used to happen a lot in 6.9 especially if i alt tabbed out to read etc as the game loaded

2,556 [GWG] AVR_Project Members 8,019 posts 15,964 battles Report post #13 Posted September 3, 2017 The game does a dump on me about every three games. Either it's a video driver, restart, or it locks up the network to a point I need to power off the computer. My phone is also on the Internet. I've actually been on a call when this happens. The game freezes, and right after I go into Task Manager and abort WOWS, my phone goes dead too. The network stays jammed until the game machine is completely powered off. It seems my Internet provider is automatically resetting me. This happens about every 3rd or 4th lockup where I have to can the game, power down, and restart. Also, my custom system that I built myself is far from "funky" and the only variable in the last few days has been patch.

Actually 6.9 is when the game started losing stability for me, never had a CTD before that patch, had about 5 after. 6.10 ctd'ed twice last night, no mods installed. It's generally been stable on my system too for as long as I've been playing which is about 13 months. Strange stuff does happen occasionally though, most often within the first few days of a major patch. Edited September 4, 2017 by lemekillmister

3,054 DDJohnston Members 6,670 posts Report post #19 Posted September 4, 2017 The only issue I've had lately is once or twice in the last two patches, I've had to exit the game and reload to get into a battle. Just won't let me in till I do. As I said, though, only twice, i.e. two times only in the last two patches, so I can't really say much about it. Otherwise, clear sailing, high graphics, on a 2011 system. YMMV.

When game behaves odd after new update, I delete everything under "res mods" and it helps, usually its a small size, but this time it was huge. Have no idea why so big. Now I have 3 mods installed and size is 206kb :D
