One on One random battle

Hello fellow captains,

Anyone ever been in a random battle with you against one enemy? I just had one about 30 minutes ago, where I was the only one on my team in a Minekaze DD, and there was one lone DD on the other team. I don't remember the name of the map but it only had two circles, one mine, and one enemy. I got in his cap, and he in mine, so I went back to mine, and was lucky enough to kill him with the first torpedo salvo. Received Devastating Strike, and First Blood. I have never seen a random battle with only two players, was just wondering if anyone else had ever had one of these?

Yes, I may have (?). It was a T1 random battle tho it may have been 2 or 3 a side. Still weird.

I had one on the PTS, but never the live server.

In Tier 1 you can get them quite a lot when server pop is very low. I had probably 6 or 7 consecutive 1v1 T1 battles on the Asia server a month or so back... the server pop was between 900 and 1000.

I've had about 40 total between tiers 1 and 2, none over that. Also had a number of 2 on 2, 3 on 3, 4 on 4, etc.

Last one on one I had, me and the other guy met at the middle and talked to a draw. :P

Same here. A Domination battle with both of us in destroyers. I had the advantage in speed an concealment, so I just ran around and out-capped the other guy. Never even caught sight of my opponent.

1 on 1 CV battles are fun if you convince the opponent into a secondary only duel. You can also let each other farm planes for more rewards and get clear skies pretty easily. I wonder if this particular case is related to the MM having troubles with all the BBs in games due to the RN BB release.

Had a random last night with 2 DDs and 1 CL each side.  Actually was quite fun.  I was in a T2 IJN DD, and still killed the Soviet T2 DD, but, that pulled me away from the cap, and the lone survivor of the other two-on-two capped while we fought it out.  Regardless, it was actually fun as hell.  No camping, but lots of fighting.

ive had a 2v2 with 1 BB and 1 CV per side in the past at t9-10 but its been a long time since i did that.

Lowest I've had was 5 vs 5 on t2. I ended it with a Kraken.

They were very common in Alpha, the best/worst one was my Cleveland vs a Ryujo - The irresistible force vs the immovable object, and even early in Closed Beta. On the live server they are most common shortly after the reset

I once had a 1v3.

I have been playing a grand total of 31 days, and this is the first time I saw a one vs one match. Seems to be a rare thing.
