V111 class and missions? I do not follow what you mean. As for premium time. All things in this game can be played without premium time. The Tirpitz is a good ship, but for a new person, you might want to either hold off until you get a little more experience, or watch some videos on how to play her and get the feel of her before you buy/play. Most people will tell you to gain experience before going to upper tiers, which is good advice in some aspects.
992 [HELLS] GrandAdmiral_2016 Members 2,971 posts 41,704 battles Report post #4 Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) You are talking about Tier VIII play. If you select Tirpitz you will be directed to games that will have ships at that tier, or 2 tiers higher or lower. You won't see a T V ship in a T VIII or higher match. As a new player, you will find this to be tough sledding in Random play, and T8 in Co-op without premium time can be credit costly if you don't score a large number of hit points. There are a lot of experienced players at higher tiers and they won't show you any mercy if they are on the other team, nor cut you any slack if they are on yours. You don't need a premium account to play premium ships I would recommend that you play Tiers II to V using tech tree ships or a low-tier premium like Albany, Smith or Tachibana until you learn the ropes. My first premium was Texas and it taugh me how to play battleships properly. It is just as much fun at lower tiers, you play with and against more players with your experience level, ,and you will learn a lot quicker. Jumping right in at T VIII may discourage you from playing. Check out the YouTube vidoes and threads in the forums about how to play certain ships and ship types. It will lessen the learning curve a lot. Ignore the salt in game chat! Welcome Aboard! Edited September 3, 2017 by GrandAdmiral_2016

But you will have a hard time at tier 8 until you get more experience. That said, IMO Tirpitz is the most forgiving premium ship at higher tiers. You can make a lot of mistakes with her and still do well. Tirpitz along with the other high tier German BB's gets better and better as you add captain skills. Tier 3 basic firing training and tier 4 advanced firing training are essential to do well in high tier German BB's. Once you get manual control of secondaries as the 2nd tier 4 skill, the ship becomes god-like. You can't go wrong with the Tirpitz, just remember there is still a learning curve and there are still skills to be learned. Stephen You can play the random battles were you will face ships from Vl-X there are certain restrictions I believe for missions were your rank has to be at a certain level to play them the Tirpitz is a fun boat if you do buy it spend a lot of time in Co-op were no one cars about winrates to much , Random ..some get quite salty about it the Premium ships come with a port slot already so no need to buy fully upgraded which means you don't have to upgrade guns Or hulls, you do need to get Captain skills to improve ship performance and you make a lot more XP to do this with a Premium account, but it is not necessary if you need any help with Tirpitz build feel free to PM me

The Tir9itz is a fine boat, but the warnings above about high-tier battles is accurate. Buy her and try her, but be aware the high tiers can be brutal so understand you might not get great results until you learn how to survive and thrive at T8-10. You can find a lot of information about it on YouTube channels for instance. Still, I second my forummates about jumping directly to tier VIII. Its not about you can or cannot do with your money. Its about to have a good experience with this game. If you looking for some increase of incoming, maybe buying premium time or flags using regular tech tree vessels is the best option for you. In IMHO is a cheaper and a safer use of your "gold" as long as you cannot return a premium ship if you dislike it. Use the KM BB tech tree for start. When you´re ready you can pull the trigger on Tirp or any other good ship. Best regards.
438 [PROJX] hangglide42 Members 1,120 posts 42,846 battles Report post #12 Posted September 3, 2017 (edited) Hey Stephen! Firstly welcome & here's wishing you many hours of fun & battles in WOWS! I hope you enjoy your new Tirpitz - she is a great T8 BB - but since you're new to the game, I have a few suggestions for you that may help you enjoy her more and will ease the learning curve as you jump in w/ both feet. 1. Firstly - jumping into a T8 BB before working your way up a BB line to that level has it's difficulties as other posters have pointed out. You'll find yourself uptiered into T10 matches, not infrequently, and if you're not experienced w/ your ship, you may find some unpleasantness from your teammates. The Tirpitz was one of the 1st Premium ships offered by WG when WOWS 1st came out and many players bought them - as a result, it received the moniker (for a while) of "Derpitz" because there were a number of inexperienced players playing it & they were getting killed - not fun for them or their teammates. I would suggest trying her out in Co-op Battles first and if you can do well in Co-op, you'll feel more comfortable in Randoms while reducing any unpleasantness. As a famous Star Wars character once claimed - "going against the living" will prove harder than taking on the bots in Co-op, especially if you get uptiered into T10 games. 2. WOWS has a lot of subtle strategies and tactical moves that you'll pick up as you play the game. Everything from where to shoot on an enemy ship with what under what circumstances, how to angle your armor, maneuvering tactics to inflict more damage and keep your ship safer, as well as Cap strategies and tactics to achieve game goals to win more. I've posted a series of guides under the topic "WOWS Enjoyment" that you might find useful (the articles span a range of topics to help you get up to speed in the game) to learn some of the nuances of the game that will make you a better player and help you enjoy the game more, faster. Welcome & hope to see you out there! o7 Edited September 3, 2017 by hangglide42
