How many on here have to let kids play the account to keep the peace?

It is just a game. If it was ranked I would understand but some people get way way over the top with this and other games!

there are multiple offline games that don't involve a competitive online setting between 12 actual people.

many of those games also involve much nicer language than you'll find in a game where you let a child take the helm.

food for thought.

So... your child bullies you into letting him play your account. Am I missing something?

Usually people make the excuse that their kid played their account and that is why their stats are so bad, or you get the other type that rant about abusive chat and that the Devs should remove chat to protect their children even though the game is teen rated. IMO (being a father to a now 22yr old) I would never allow a child under 13 to play unsupervised and not on my personal account. Make a new account for them and watch them play in tier 1s for the experience of playing a game. If someone gets abusive in chat, just have your child log out. Don't expect people to act differently on a teen rated game just because you decided to let your kid play.

My son was smitten with WoWS when he first watched me play.  I m a good dad, so I let him play on my account... until he somehow felt my account was his.

I kicked his butt out of the house to reclaim what was mine!  (time for him to go anyways, he is almost 40.)

I do not worry about stats. I do not care about the language. I was just wondering.

I do not blame you.

No worries, just a touchy subject. As we have had parents complain about behavior in game hurting their kid's feelings and expect the devs to change the game to suit them even though it is a teen rated game. I let my son play Alien vs Predator 2 and America's Army which were both games I tested and played back in the day when he was not a teen yet. We have a PC in the kitchen for the kids to play on and be supervised. If chat got bad or if my son was doing things in game to hurt the teams I would have him stop playing and discuss with him what was wrong (either with the chat from others or his actions) and play again later.

If the child is real young and just wants to sail ships around, you can fire up a training room. I think that would be the best option. No humans to possibly upset about gameplay and no swearing/lude comments to worry about.

you realize in the state of CA he can have you arrested for child endangerment for what you just stated, and can also, if he has the right attorney, divorce you. plus, EVERYBODY knows 40 is the new 18. they are just not ready to let go of helicopter mommie till they are in their mid 40's. what a barbarian brute you are.

How do you set up a training room?

I would suggest against allowing younger children to play your account, especially at higher tiers, where players expect a degree of competence. It may not be ranked, but most of us are still aiming to win. You could always just let them muck around in Coop mode or even a Training Room, where player skill and success is not really of importance.

You don't have to allow your kids to play your account, you choose to. Also, I'm pretty sure that's a TOS violation. Also, if your kids are old enough to play WoWs, then you could just make them their own accounts. Basically, if you're looking for someone to validate your decision to let your kids play your account, save yourself the trouble, because there is no validation for that.

I will do as I please then.

I use Aslain's modpack to enable the training room. There are other ways. Just do a search on it here and you can find it. Where you would normally choose Random or COOP it will add the Training Room as another option. I suggest looking it up here for instructions on how to set up a room. You can even enable bot ships to shoot at and have them sit still or move around, allow them to shoot you or not too.

Thank you. I have two young adults that have special needs . I was wanting to place them some where to learn before I buy them a each a premium ship for ranked battles.

I know at least one kid who let his dad play on his account - with predictable results.

No, I just don't run into it as frequently. I choose to be on warships more often than, say, facebook.

don't have a facebook or twitter account. only been on the WoWs forum for a bit over a year, and have seen plenty of sexist crap. there are a couple trolls that excel in it. well, as much as a troll can excel at anything with little or no intelligence or literary skills.
