Dds unplayable since recent updates.

Ive noticed the gameplay style for dds has utterly changed for the worst.

 

My anshan no longer rules the sea and my kamikaze seems nerf batted to death right now.Sims seems ok but doesnt rudder shift quite like before its sluggish.

Leningrad is ok.

okhotnik is also ok.

gaede seems ok.

cambletown is fine and smith and tachibana also.

Trashkent is overwhelmed in its tier now.

Podvoisky is ok.

 

My point is ships suddenly appear close for no reason,you get spotted and focus fired on so much faster now and smoke seems to be a fail right now in game.

 

It feels like the dds recently are zero fun to play.

Maybe me or maybe the game is broken with the stupid visibility nerfs etc and huge he power?

He does this about once a month. Shows up, spams a bunch of nonsensical and unintelligible threads about how everything is ruined, and then disappears again. But yet he never seems to actually quit. 

It takes a lot to be more obnoxious than Kyogre (the forum's all-time most obnoxious member, now banned) but StockmanKrouse is trying hard to supplant him. If he ever gets a Twitch channel and starts posting more often, the title 'The Next Kyogre™' will be justified.

I' glad I missed that other guy's post, would probably make my blood boil and my head explode lol.  People like this just make you truly wonder if there is any hope left in the world.  I'm just too opinionated (I know, typical woman) to resist commenting on his crap.

ships appear close do to being unmasked by land? or do you mean dds suddenly come into detection. Other than carriers hovering to mark you up or huge capital or cruiser ships have magical conceilment idk how that could just happen without reading the minimap wrong....idk seems fine to me

It amuses me that all the ships you say are doing "ok" are either Russian or gunboats.

DD's by themselves haven't changed; the meta they play in has.

Oh, don't worry about that. WG thinks it's "Working As Designed", and has steadfastly refused to fix ANY of the problems (of which there are at least 3 game-breaking ones that have been known for at least 2 years) with detection and vision, since Beta.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the biggest reasons DDs have a hard time in this game.

DD's feel pretty much the same to me, only thing that has changed is more BB's around flinging Super charged HE.

I mean, with indirect nerfs to dds in previous patches. I doubt that dds are unplayable. It is really tough to dd play. DDs are considered strategic. The only line I would say needs help is the Jap DD line. Right now as it stands, every other torp boat does the jap boats job much better.

 

Their not unplayable yet, they are getting more difficult to play OP. Maybe, try reconstructing your post so that people can understand your point and understand it clearly. That would help. Constructive ideas are more effective than a bramble mess of thorns to sift through. Your post is difficult to read without asking the simple question (WHY?) and not get an answer. Please try another way of constructing your ideas so that others can understand them clearly. It would be appreciated and I would like to understand your opinion, but clearly.

I haven't really noticed it being much worse recently.  I mean, yeah, DD play has been going downhill for a while now but nothing noticeable with the recent patch.  The magic appearing ship well within it's detection range bug has been in the game as long as I've played it.  I just assume it's going to happen now and try and deal with it.

If you think this, OP, you aren't playing DDs properly. DDs are loads of fun & are a total challenge to play.

What has been changing for a while is everyone's meta about how to react to DDs. When I started playing, battleships usually couldn't be arsed to shoot at the DD (and tons of threads were opened about how cruiser players were stupid for not killing DDs). They have since found out that surprise! Their guns can, in fact, affect destroyers. DD captains aren't fan, even though little actually changed except for select open-water stealth fire ships.

This was actually a patch i think.  BB overpen dmg got buffed.  DD detection via gun firing got nerfed (increased).  Rewards for capping were diminished in new econ.  Torpedoes are massively nerfed in detection and speed.  

 

Yes, the game changed.

Yes, the game changed. 

Nope. Overpen was a tenth of AP damage when I joined and is a tenth of AP damage now.

as far as poetic goes,  I have never seen a guy besides IronWulf that acts like he is the end all be all of the game,  treats everyone like garbage with his elitist attitude and yet with nearly 11k matches and is still a C- player yet treats people like SO many do on these boards with this nasty attitude.

 

Sure the op has an emotion rant because he is even worse than poetic at the game so those threads are gonna happen.  The real issue on these boards are the elitist downers like poetic that crap on everyone an yet when you look at where it is coming from.....it almost makes you sad for him.
