Favorite Operation Poll

Just wanted to see which Operation people liked the most. My favorite is Killer Whale.

Killer Whale. I love the pace of the op, as well as the way that aircraft are used. The Hosho is ingeniously used as an airfield, and the various different objectives are very interesting.

 

Really the rewards are the same but for the captains, which comes down to which ships you use most.

Raptor rescue is my favorite really. I like the convoy aspect of it and just the general pacing.

Dynamo got boring for me fast, but I played it anyways for the containers. Aegis got me my Kutuzov captain, I didn't need the others. Raptor rescue was fun, I like the swarms of enemy ships coming as you progress through the mission.

Killer Whale is fun, especially for fast ships, kind of an opposite of the first operation, Newport.

 

As for rewards, I said Dynamo because of the flags and containers and such.

Any operation that the team makes an effort  to get the job done. The rewards are cute, but I've already got a mess of captains, ect...

 

Had way too many were team mates decided they we going nowhere objectives, or milled around to do something. Just finished the evening with a 5 star in Killer Whale where our Leander driver did his best to cost us the win by simply not getting in the exit area.

I like em all and the rotation is good too. BTW, has anyone tried or seen a full CL division do one? Like all Clevelands or a mix of all of them. Just wondering if it would be the cakewalk I envision in my head that way. I mostly use my Cleveland for these anymore because it performs best in the operations for me.

My personal favorite is Aegis. Mainly because even with a horrible team I can usually carry a 3/4-star run in worst case. Very easy operation overall, unless you are unlucky and get the north BB spawn event.. then, well, it sucks.

Killer Whale is great when you have a good team. However, those that don't understand how important time management is in that mission infuriate me to no end. I cannot tell you how many 4-star runs I have gotten losses on because people dawdle or key ships wander away from the exit point to chase kills and die. Overall, it is probably the most challenging operation because team work and time management is critical to achieving just a victory, let alone all 5 stars.

Defense of Newport Station used to be extremely hard but with the last set of changes unless you had a good team. It has become pretty manageable for a victory as long as your team doesn't go complete potato. 5 stars still requires a good team overall but it is nowhere near as difficult as it used to be.

Raptor Rescue was fine the few times I've played it but I don't have enough experience to pass judgment.

Cleveland is my bae for Defense of Newport Station and Killer Whale. It is an absolute DPS monster and that AA comes in handy in Killer Whale when you lack a good CV. When in doubt, Cleveland is my go to ship for operations.

For Aegis, I prefer Russian DDs or British CLs for their smoke and AP potential. With those ships, I can easily get 200k+ damage games with proper positioning / smoking. Though my strategy may need some changing the next time around due to the recent smoke changes. Cleveland is also fun in that operation but requires a different and less aggressive strategy in Aegis to survive to the end.

I always love to see good CV players in Operations. Though your life has gotten a bit more difficult with the defensive AA now present on some ships in the latest update to the operations.

Tremendously rude shock the first few times before it finally clicked in my head what was happening.

 

Nice though that a few of the ships are less powerful. An Aoba and a Nurn going after the Lex in Newport is a lot easier to deal with than the previous Myoko and Hipper.

Operations can be frustrating at times mostly because of the lack of teamwork. By far my most enjoyable is Aegis because it's noob friendly. I almost always play either Ryujo or Independence because they can carry the most and you can't rely on random teammates to play the right ships. I also miss Dynamo because it's a historical battle and hope it becomes a permanent operation.

I liked and hate them all, but mostly the Operation Raptor Rescue.

For rewards, the same operation because I'm ocean soul junkie.

My Fav Killer Whale.    Sneak into the base, blow up everything you can find and run for the exit!      Really Fun in my Nicholas, I zoom ahead and start destroying the land facilities then torp as many aux ships as I can.   

 

Hated the original Newport.   Need to try it again since updates.
