Kind of annoying being set on fire from every salvo from every angle. Seems a little unskillful and doesn't make the game enjoyable.

I said no to all.  If I wanted all ships the same I'd only play one ship.

How else would I farm witherers and arsonists? Use my Cancerzov? WG "insists" on giving every line a "unique flavour" and for the UK BBs it happened to be good HE. At least they didn't get radar. :cap_win:

How is AP not viable? While I only have 9 battles in Orion so far, my average using AP only is 58k with my best being 94k. So not understanding how it's not viable.

9 battles with 16 kills so far.

No option for 'no opinion yet'.  Although there are many community concerns over the HE, I'd like to see each ship's performance over a month or two and see how they stack up damage wise against established battleships.

I think AP is viable in RN BBs, it's just that most people heard WG say "RN BBs have good HE," and so now you see plenty of people spam exclusively HE.

 

Personally, I'm glad that there's now a scenario where I don't have to be scared of taking 20k damage when I accidentally show my cruiser's broadside to a BB.

I am getting an easy 50k with HE only... using fully stock and a 1pt captain.

The AP is fantastic against cruisers, as most of the shells don't overpenetrate and are pretty accurate.

Too early to really make a judgement, and lets face it, the HE is stronk for a simple reason...

Most players in the game have a hazy grasp of shell mechanics, and game mechanics in general. You see BB's regularly use HE against all targets, because it's simpler.....

I wanted the RN BB line to be like Warspite, great accuracy and AP, good health regen and low HP and armor offset the rest. I don't think WG should have went with such a dumb gimmick. That being said I'll still play them because I'm a battleship main, but I'm kinda revolted at how I'm shoehorned into using HE

I feel the same way.  I'm really disappointed in the KGV the most of all ship..

I believe it should lose either a chunk of fire chance or it's damage, on top of losing a full charge of heal.

Fire spam may die off a bit when you aren't seeing 6 Iron Dukes and 4 Orions in every battle. 

Good HE is one way to discourage sniping and bow-camping.  Get your bloody tuckus moving and don't let them pump HE shells into you. 

It is a new challenge.  Find a way to deal with it that doesn't involve whining for nerfs on day 1.

Personally I would like to see all HE modified along with how fire works to remove some of the frustration that comes from the all or nothing fire fighting from using damage control.

That's how power creep works. In order to keep players constantly working towards (and spending MONEY on) new content the new stuff has to be incrementally better than the old stuff.

 

All MMOs have power creep... enjoy.

I dont really see the logic in making the fire chance rate so high on these ships everyone cried because of the German secondaries and the rate was reduced well this is just as bad if not worse so just released or not there stupidly high and chance needs to be reduced .

if they are going to let t8 play with the t10 and then let the new bb catch 2 fires on you every time they shot. wow can kiss any more money and my time up there [edited]. 

 

maybe they should play the damn game.

From what I understand of the RN this is based on the historical facts of the shells they used.

Has anyone wondered why shells have the fire chance vs the ships themselves? The material and construction of ships post 1870 determined the likely hood of fires starting and spreading more so than the type of artillery shell fired at the ship.
