So many whiners on the forum today!

We go through this every patch.  The next day a bunch of chicken littles get on here and run around in virtual circles screaming about how the sky is falling.   Many times they "threaten" to quit... every patch....and never leave.

 

Build a bridge and get over your issues.

 

- The gun flashes are more realistic if you watch video of actual naval gunfire.

 

- The explosions are a lot, but hey it's a video game.  When was the last time you saw a movie where the explosions were realistic instead of huge fireballs?  It's entertainment.

 

- It's too early to judge the British BBs "in the wild."   Everybody is playing them.  Give it a couple months to settle out and then we can see where things stand.

 

Settle down.  Calm your cits.  Stop thinking that your immediate reaction to any change is relevant, important, and worthy of sharing.  90% of things changed in previous patches are now just an accepted part of the meta... the same meta that NOW you whiners are complaining got changed.

 

Newsflash, the game will and must evolve over time or it gets stale and dies.

After the update the game in general seems very "OFF" in a big way feels very different and wrong now.As for the effects seems more hollywood than war to me.As for british battleships i got a free iron duke did we need more battleships?no we had the warspite.Russia needs battleships.

Playing my anshan last night the game seems very off.

I don't mind the muzzle flashes and I think they are an improvement over the previous FX. The ship explosions are a bit much, but I can live with it. I would like to see other death animations sprinkled in. Maybe just having a ship sink without one big explosions, but a bunch of smaller ones, stuff like that.

I think the HE for the tier IX and X is a bit extreme. No HE should have an over 40% fire chance, but time will tell.

You're the only person I've seen actually /not/ want the British navy to have battleships. Usually it was people loudly complaining that they weren't here yet. 
Russia's getting BBs eventually. Soon (TM)

I haven't been on this morning, but I have some responses for you.  First of all, I sort of agree with you.  IMO, there are too many self-entitled whiners on this forum.  That said ...

1. It's a computer game, not a video game.  Video games are played on consoles.  Computer games are played on, well, actual computers.

2. Gun flashes.  100% agree.  Hell, calling them "flashes" may not even be accurate, given the level of flame and smoke that's expelled from larger guns.  Some might think that the graphics of the flashes look fake or cheesy, but fake or cheesy or not, they are emulating what actual large caliber main gun "flashes" look like.  As you said, all one has to do is look at pictures or videos of battleship guns being fired to know that their portrayal is accurate.

3. Explosions.  If you/they are talking about the explosions when ships die, I can't agree with you.  Every ship that gets sunk does NOT die in a big explosion.  Some do.  Heck, some don't have their massive explosion until after or while the ship is slipping under the waves.  (Check out pictures of the HMS Barnham's sinking, IIRC.)  But some ships just slip under the waves without a lot of hullabaloo.  Also, I find the ship exploding graphic/sound really jarring when my ship gets sunk.

4. While I don't necessarily think that there are too many fires, I don't like the unrealistic AP vs HE paradigm that this game has introduced.  HE shells were historically used strictly for shore bombardment of soft targets, while AP shells were used for surface combat.  Furthermore, AP shells' explosions could cause fires without the need of a specialized "incendiary" HE shell.  Thus, I find the concept of RN BB's being HE spammers to be historically inaccurate and jarring.  What's wrong with reality?  The game does NOT have to be some sort of hardcore sim to take the design path of reasonable realism!!!

It's stockmankrause  he returns every patch and [edited] about anything new and tries desperately to troll the forums..  he is then ignored by most people. (I didn't even see his post until you quoted it) and runs away to hide until the next patch.

I rate him right up there with the player that always goes..  "CA THAT HURT U"  and I imagine that in his own little basement between his packets of cheetoes, that everytime he posts he looks at the screen and goes..  "WG  THAT HURT U"

If He doesn't like it, then it was probably a good move by WG :)

In my humble opinion, people can write whatever the heck they feel like writing. 

There was huge change recently and that naturally leads to more than usual number of complaints.

It's just inevitable.

For example, you say that the new firing effect is totally historical.

but how do you know them? yes it does look alike to the video footages, but we are seeing them through the recorded media.

Cameras adjust their brightness when they see the bright flashes which makes the firing flashes really apparent in the recorded media.

However, if you were to see them in real-life with naked eyes, it would look like quick flash of light.

So people whos complaining that they look fake DO make their points valid.

However from game's standpoint, they look very good and plus they give more visual information.

So I have no problem with the update but I also do see points made from those who don't like it.

Back to the OP, this kind of thread is just another complaint towards those who makes complaint.

So.... what's the point? just let them write whatever they feel like. They do contribute to the game by giving WG feedback.

but yours just make insults towards certain types of people and prevents feedbacks to WG.

If there are enough number of people who don't like the new effect, may be WG has to do something.

Are you out of your mind or just a troll?  The game DESPERATELY needed RN battleships!  Just like it strongly needs the Italian and French navies.

Russia needs Battleships?  For crying out loud, they built very, very few of them in the time period covered by this game, whereas the British, French, and Italians all built more BBs than the Russians.  Heck, the Austria-Hungarian Navy probably built more BB's than the Russians, and they went out of business after WW1!!!

At least the whiners get to play the game. I've been without a gaming machine for over 3 weeks because I don't have the monies to replace my dead laptop. So All I can do is watch the game through youtube videos and forum posts.

Here's an idea, if any one is sick of playing WoWs send me your machine so I can play lol.

Only 2 complaints from me.

 

1) The number of people who could douse themselves in Clue-musk, go to the  Clue-singles bar and do the Clue-mating dance and still not have a Clue spouting off authoritatively about how the UK BBs  HE is overpowered and only for dumb players.

 

2) Can't get in a game in randoms because there are too many BBs in the cue and the wait times are off the chart.
