Broken patches, integrity check, resource efficiency...

So, looks like the last update broke the game for many of us.

That is annoying, but we all know that testing is for wussies and *excrements* [the actual word censored by SJW PC compatible snowflake anti-swearword fascist bleeeping algos] happens.

What bothers me (as someone who has worked many years in software project management and product management) is the incredibly inefficient update/patch/check routines.

If the game starts and 'just' hangs, clearly the majority of files is ok.

The 'integrity check' should identify what is broken, and then download exactly that. Not the whole game.

Instead, the integrity checker seems to have been re-installing the whole game, in many cases downloading MORE than a fresh install would do (dafuq?).

In other cases, e.g. here, it gets stuck and does not give any useful feedback what it is doing, but is still shoveling metric megatons of download data in the background...

Developers probably live in a place with >9000 Terabit optical fibre from the future, but please keep in mind that many of your player base don't.

Using our resources (time, bandwidth) in a more responsible and efficient way would be much appreciated.

I'm a bit sad that there's no word from WG anywhere on the latest patch and the file corruption/integrity checks, it was a known factor for a day and still they released it on EU in the same manner and there's threadnought developing over there and other posts as well on the exact same subject as people are crashing, freezing, checking and downloading. It's like they though "Oh s**t, well we'll just let them do the integrity checks 'cause it's too much hassle to postpone this patch and write a new routine for the file conversion". Any word from WG on this subject would be good right about now.

Yeah, their 'response' (posting it as a 'known issue', not immediately pulling and/or fixing the broken patch...) is kinda unsatisfactory and a middle finger towards the players beta testers.
