This is with just the AA Guns Mod. 2 and Manual AA, I don't even have AFT yet.

CV type????

It was a Kaga sending full strike waves at me. Most of them didn't survive long enough to drop their payload.

Seems more indicative to me of poor CV play, AA is and always will be completely useless no matter the circumstance - against a proper drop.

I've seen many better CV players, but I've definitely also seen a lot worse. Most of the planes were shot down before they had a chance to drop either way.

The long range DPS it throws up is functionally identical to a Cleveland that isn't using defensive fire, which mulches most tier 6-7 planes when using MAA and aggressive target focusing. With the MAA skill bonus, its chucking up 231 DPS starting at 7 kilometers. I would imagine that it still suffers from the same drop off in effectiveness versus tier 8 planes, although a reasonable level of potency is still there.
