1. The AI really doesn't know how to use it so you have a huge advantage 

AI Graf tends to lose planes not use them effectively. Hides in corner of map doesn't take advantage of secondaries.

 

2. The AI tends to dispatch DDs to kill you. You kill DDs easily. Not only that AI rarely hides in smoke.

 

3. BB don't prioritize you they prioritize other BBs and cruisers. So staying close to those makes largely invisible to the one that you are weak against. 

 

4. For what ever reason the AI doesn't know how to handle carriers capping or holding caps tends to send DDs to deal with you.

It will be interesting to see how this will translate to Randoms when "testers" with months of experience go against CVs and BBs who have no idea what to expect.

I feel sorry for DD players they think they are in for an easy kill and get sunk instead

Or when everyone sees the testers demolishing ships, to then buy the Graf  just to realise that it's cause they've been playing the ship for months.

I hope that doesn't change I like that it has a learning curve do to the different play style.

Every carrier has a learning curve. I just hope that Graf Zeppelins isn't so steep that the testers are the only ones who can enjoy it.

Bingo.

Even though I hated the reports of paper fighters, AP bombs with huge delays, and (from just strictly an aesthetic "I want to see all plane types") struggled with the lack of TBs, I likely would have bought & parked once payday came if the window would have stayed open thanks to the post-release release of 'at some point' she'll get deep water torps;  I even had a 13pt captain set aside for her.  As it stands, I'll just have to wait until (likely) next year.

I would guess that there is six months before you can get the Graf Zeppelin if not more. As there's all the testing and then the tree month exclusivity

After the debate with LWM I would say almost two years because we get three months of exclusion on top of probably another year or two of testing.

While you very easily could be correct, any ship that still needs a year+ of testing should have been Nowhere Near the premium shop.

I think she was done its just the Shokaku cult and BB mafia rejected it's concept. BB mafia doesn't want AP bombs. Shokaku cult wants a German Shokaku. The fact I can play as I feel she should be played and sucks at being Shokaku tells me I am on to something

Having just HE would have served her better in that respect.  The problem is you also have broken AP and went from 5 TB squads to 0.  Optically, it looked very...   At minimum, it should have had a second loadout similar to Saipan.

As a fellow CV guy (IJ line), I don't disagree.  They rushed it in the shops and then rushed it out.

 

Dig reports of laser-like autodrop for HE.

I believe it was 3 squads of 5 torpedo bombers, not 5 squads of 3 torpedo bombers. As for the AP other than the painfully long delay it's a more than viable weapon. Pen and damage is better than that on Enterprise, so tier 9 and 10 battleships have to take note as well. I remember surprising a few Iowa for about 39k hit points with those AP bombs. The IJN battleships I think my record is 61K on a Izumo. Either way right now it is only good against the static bow tanker after the escorting cruisers either run away or die.

Yeah, the AP bombs seems to be great as long as the ship doesn't, you know, turn or change speed in the 6+ seconds they have after the payload release.  That's what I hear, anyway...

By the way, if you haven't tried yet with your other CVs, set up your bombing run and hit Z when they're on their approach.  Very cool...

Yeah pretty much going to be nerfed for DDs sake at some point it's not even sporting some times seeing three squadrons of DBs descend on a poor DD.
