Good Morning Developers,

Would you all reactivate/ reinstate the World War I era Hull A for the New Mexico class battleship in the tech tree ? That was my favorite ship to play and it was removed several updates ago, as it appears players "hated" it (as well as the Colorado class World War I era Hull A) as being too "outdated" compared to other battleships of the tiers . I think something was overlooked here, and those World War I era hulls should return in general or as a premium ship. In order to make them competitive for a majority of players, I would suggest adding the torpedoes to these World War I era hulls. Historically, The US Navy Nevada class, Pennsylvania class, New Mexico class, Tennessee class and Colorado class battleships did have at least 2 x 21inch (533 MM) torpedo tubes (both submerged/ below the water line, one port and one starboard) when commissioned, these torpedo tubes were removed during their late 1920's era or 1930's era refits. Returning these torpedo tubes to World War I era hulls, specifically on the New Mexico class, and even Colorado class, would make the World War I era hull ships more competitive with the German battleships including Tirpitz and Scharnhorst among others, Japanese Mutsu and other ships equipped with torpedoes, which would make these ships much more fun to play and battles dynamic.

Thank You !

While I do agree that the stock hulls should return in some manner (not new premium ships), WG has stated that there will be no submerged torpedo tubes in the game.

I would like them back but not as premiums and not for the torpedos but for the look they could com back as campaign reward ships for easier campaigns.

So wait, you want a less performance oriented ship? :Smile_amazed:

That's a capital idea.  Just use a sister ship and the A hull and voila, instant reward.

I use Bayern's A hull because the fictional 'refit' is so monstrously ugly that I can't stand to look at it.  I sure hope I get thru that grind before they yank her A hull...

I'll give you that.  Bayern's A-hull is much more visually appealing than the upgraded monstrosity, but I still used the latter for the in-game benefits it yields.  I'm not going to intentionally handicap my gameplay just for aesthetics.

Enh, the B hull isn't exactly head and shoulders above the A hull, so I'm willing to give it up.  Now A hull Fuso?  Yeah, no thanks.

Yeah the lattice masts have grown on me through the grind.

Agreed. The lattice or "cage" masts are unique.

Less preforming ? The World War I Hull A was still a match to the Hull B New Mexico and Kongo etc., The World War Hull A earned me two Krakens and held it's own across the map. I think "Less Preforming" or "better/ More preforming" is more about player skill and not always about ship capability. In a real world naval battleship duel would you rather have Vice Admiral Willis A. Lee, U.S. Navy, Admiral Jesse B. Oldendorf, U.S. Navy or Grand Admiral Karl Dönitz ,  Kriegsmarine standing next to you on the bridge or an Ensign, two weeks out of the Naval Academy or Officer Candidate School ? When going against a superior ship or enemy force.
