Trying To Get The Most out of My 19pt Enterprise Captain

Okay I am trying to get the most out of my Enterprise Captain Build I have 19 pts included is a screen print of what it looks like.  I have watch Fara's Vids and wanted other opinions on what I can do to make this just a bit stronger.  Understand I am not a great CV guy, I have my good and bad games.  I am AVERAGE at best, but want to do my best too.  Thank You for Your Suggestions.  You can see I have:

  • Priority Target
  • Aircraft Servicing Expert
  • Dog Fighting Expert
  • Torpedo Acceleration
  • Torpedo Armament Expertise
  • BFT
  • AFT
  • Air Supremecy

For me it looks fairly standard and straight-forward.  

You have the appropriate skills required and your flavor on the other skills is just fine.  For me I'm working towards CE as my 2nd 4th skill but that, in my opinion, is just a matter of preference as I try to be a little closer than others.

Kind of what I was wondering about, is taking CE over AFT, as I would like to get a little closer to the BBs trying to provide more AA in the area.  TY

your AA cover comes in the form of fighters and even with AFT your AA ranger still isnt great

If you want to use him in US tree fleet carriers then CE *is* a necessity...for example, the Lex's 15km-ish base detection is well over half the entire map on smaller ones like Shards or Neighbor. A stray fighter can detect you in no time flat like that.

More concealment for carrier never hurts...that extra kilo or so might keep you safe for long enough for the bar to fill up. Snipes aren't very common in T8+ so extra AA is mostly moot unless you want to play escort carrier, besides, E always have fighters...

I would suggest CE over AFT, stealthy is better.

As others pointed out ce>aft and I wouldn't take bft or pt either. If your detected I always assume every available gun is pointing at me and I act accordingly.

So if I am not take pt or bft what would you take in place of those 2?

Not sure I took rge and AR but kind of wasted points. Rarely take damage for AR and rge maybe sometimes shoots down a catapult fighter. Also EM is muh.

Your second set looks way better than your first. However I think manual fire for AA seems like a waste. Taking demo and preventative would likely be as good if not better as then you can transfer the captain over to the normal USN line and get amazing fire chance on your bombs and preventative would keep those AA guns alive while taking damage. Although if this is an Enterprise only captain ignoring concealment (as Enterprise is sneaky enough) and manual fire for AA would free up a lot of points. Now depending upon if you use HE bombs I would say Demo as fire damage is always good. If you are like me and an AP purest depending upon your worries about hostile aircraft either preventative BFT and AFT to make your AA defense almost impenetrable and invincible. Alternately depending upon how worried about fire you are Fire Prevention and Basics of Survivability would work to shut down fires, but if it's just DOTs in general Basics of Survivability, High Alert, Jack of All trades (as they stack), and Preventative just to keep secondaries and AA guns in the fight. 

 

I use these skills on my 19 point Hakuryu/Kaga captain:

  • Aircraft Servicing
  • Dog Fighting Expert
  • Torpedo Acceleration
  • Expert Rear gunner
  • Torpedo Armorment
  • BFT
  • Demo
  • Air Supremacy 

Which is similar to what you had originally, however I use my dive bombers as fire starters and fire starters only on the IJN unlike with Enterprise where I use the AP bombs for Alpha damage. Yet I take it on all my other USN carriers as then the 1000lb HE bombs have something like a 70% fire chance on target. Expert rear gunner I find helps clear off the float fighters rather nicely, and while Dog Fighting expert doesn't help in a tier 10 fighters in the damage department it does give them some extra ammunition which can be helpful.
